The Editorial Assistant for STEM and Economics provides administrative and editorial support to Content Developers and Content Managers on the STEM and Economics team. Assist team members with project planning, editorial development and management, and manuscript preparation, as well as sales, marketing, and market development research and support. Recruit and communicate with users and potential users of our products to solicit feedback and manage review programs using key systems. Interact with key functional groups inside the company (Sales, Media Production, Content Production, Marketing, Legal, etc.) and also with authors, freelancers, instructors, and students. Assist in the development of content such as instructor's manuals, presentation slides, homework assignments, and print and digital assessments for the STEM and Economics disciplines. Perform administrative tasks such as running reports, processing and tracking contracts and payments, maintaining schedules and logs, and updating data in systems. Help find solutions and offer support for miscellaneous needs or tasks that arise in the day-to-day work of the full content team. Candidates based in Austin, TX are preferred.

Major responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Perform administrative tasks including running reports, processing and tracking contracts and payments, and updating data in key systems.
  • Support content team with market research, developmental reviews, and surveys using key systems.
  • Support content team with editorial development including timely manuscript preparation and assembly; assists in evaluating content for different specifications, and support content management of media and assessment in key systems.
  • Support content team with timely permissions-related work using key systems.
  • Assist in development of content components.

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Demonstrated project management skills, with the ability to oversee multiple complex initiatives simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas clearly and effectively to diverse audiences.
  • Strong attention to detail, with a commitment to ensuring accuracy, consistency, and high-quality outputs.
  • Ability to think critically to analyze content, ask important questions, diagnose problems, and create practical solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality educational products and solutions.
  • Proven track record of maintaining a positive, solutions-oriented approach while managing competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and processes, with the ability to navigate and support change effectively.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience in a deadline-driven job with deliverables,
  • Demonstrated interest or experience in publishing or related field.
  • Experience providing administrative support in an office and/or remote office environment.
  • Customer outreach or customer service experience.
  • Experience with tutoring or teaching.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to enhance productivity, generate insights, and support content creation, research, or decision-making.
  • Candidates with degrees in STEM, Economics or Liberal Arts are also encouraged to apply.

Salary Range: This is an entry-level role with a salary of $42,000/year.
Exemption Status: Non-Exempt
Physical Requirements:
Requires periods of close concentration; must be able to multi-task; must be able to travel occasionally; work overtime - more than 40 hours a week as needed.
The position is eligible for remote employment, excluding the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, Hawaii, Mississippi, South Dakota, West Virginia, Wyoming. Candidates based in Austin, TX are preferred.
