What are Remote LNG jobs?

Remote LNG jobs refer to positions in the liquefied natural gas (LNG) industry that can be performed from locations outside of traditional offices or job sites. These roles often involve tasks such as project management, engineering support, trading, analytics, or customer service, all of which can be done using digital communication tools. Remote LNG jobs offer flexibility and the opportunity to work for global companies without relocation. As the LNG sector continues to adopt digital solutions, remote roles are becoming more common, especially in areas like data analysis, market research, and logistics coordination.

Remote Lng professionals focus on LNG project engineering and technology, often requiring engineering credentials and industry-specific certifications. Remote Geoscientists analyze geological data, requiring geology degrees and geoscience certifications. While both roles may work remotely within the energy sector, they serve different functions and industries. Remote Lng is more aligned with engineering and project management in LNG projects, whereas Remote Geoscientist emphasizes geological research and analysis.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in remote LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in remote LNG roles often face challenges such as coordinating with on-site teams across different time zones, managing technical issues without immediate hands-on access, and maintaining effective communication with stakeholders. To address these challenges, it's important to leverage reliable digital collaboration tools, establish clear communication protocols, and schedule regular virtual check-ins. Additionally, continuous professional development in remote operations technology can help you stay prepared and efficient in this dynamic work environment.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Remote LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) Operator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Remote LNG Operator, you need a strong understanding of LNG processes, safety standards, and relevant engineering principles, often supported by a degree in engineering or a related field. Familiarity with SCADA systems, process control software, and industry certifications such as OSHA or HAZMAT is typically required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective remote communication are critical soft skills for this role. These competencies ensure the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of LNG facilities from a distance, minimizing risks and maintaining compliance.

This role is structured as a contract-based commercial development position focused on identifying, qualifying, and advancing high-value sales opportunities for Arkemaโ€™s molecular sieve solutions.

The role focuses on driving commercial growth for molecular sieve solutions used in natural gas dehydration and gas processing, leveraging relationships across pipeline operators, gas processors, LNG developers, EPCs, and major energy companies.

A key objective is to originate, qualify, and manage a structured sales funnel, transitioning high-quality opportunities to Arkemaโ€™s internal technical sales team for engineering support, proposal development, and closing.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and convert opportunities for molecular sieves in gas dehydration and purification
  • Leverage and expand relationships with midstream operators, gas processors, LNG developers/exporters, EPC contractors, and major energy companies

  • Build and manage a structured sales funnel: lead generation, prospect identification, opportunity qualification, project timing, decision-makers, and prioritization
  • Serve as the front-end commercial filter, transitioning qualified leads to Arkemaโ€™s technical sales team for application support, adsorbent selection, system design input, proposal development, and closing support
  • Engage customers on value propositions including bed life, regeneration optimization, uptime, process efficiency, cost reduction, retrofit, and debottlenecking opportunities
  • Maintain awareness of market activity, expansions, and competitive dynamics

Qualifications

  • 5+ yearsโ€™ experience in midstream oil & gas, with natural gas strongly preferred
  • Established network across pipeline companies, gas processors, LNG operators, majors, EPCs, and commercial decision-makers
  • Proven track record in sales, business development, or commercial roles
  • Working knowledge of natural gas dehydration, TEG and molecular sieve systems, gas processing operations, and pipeline specifications
  • Ability to operate independently in a contract sales associate role, with disciplined reporting, opportunity tracking, and customer follow-up
  • Experience with adsorbents, catalysts, or process technologies is a strong plus
  • Ability to travel to customer sites up to 40% of the time

Ideal Profile

  • Former professional from a midstream operator, LNG developer, distributor, EPC, or major energy company
  • Strong relationships in one or more target basins or LNG corridors
  • Credible with both technical stakeholders and commercial decision-makers
  • Demonstrated ability to originate, qualify, and advance opportunities through a structured funnel approach
  • Knowledge or exerpeince with adsorbents or molecular sieves is a plus
