Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor with Summit Behavioral Health Resources, you will:

  • Conduct comprehensive trauma-informed assessments to evaluate the psychological needs and trauma history of patients, establishing effective treatment pathways tailored to each individual.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans aimed at enhancing trauma recovery and building resilience in clients.
  • Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions, including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Trauma-Focused Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), to support clients in processing trauma-related experiences.
  • Facilitate individual and group therapy sessions, providing a safe space for clients to explore their experiences, develop coping strategies, and foster healing.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists and multidisciplinary team members to ensure comprehensive and integrated care services for clients.
  • Provide crisis intervention and support for patients experiencing trauma-related emergencies, ensuring their immediate needs are met with sensitivity.
  • Educate clients and their families about trauma responses, effective coping mechanisms, and available community resources, thus empowering them in their healing journey.
  • Maintain meticulous and confidential client documentation, adhering to all legal and ethical standards in mental health practice.
