What is a remote litigation house counsel?

A Remote Litigation House Counsel is a licensed attorney who provides legal representation and advice on litigation matters for a company, but works remotely instead of being physically present in the office. Their responsibilities include managing lawsuits, drafting legal documents, advising on risk mitigation, and sometimes representing the company in court or settlement negotiations. By working remotely, they leverage technology to collaborate with internal teams and outside counsel while maintaining flexibility and efficiency. This role is especially common in companies that operate on a national or global scale and want to attract legal talent regardless of geographic location.

Familiarity with legal research databases (like Westlaw or LexisNexis), document management systems, and virtual collaboration tools is typically required. Exceptional written and verbal communication, critical thinking, and the ability to manage time independently are vital soft skills. These qualifications are crucial for effective case management, client representation, and successful outcomes in a remote legal environment.

Proactively building relationships with colleagues and staying updated on virtual courtroom procedures also enhances effectiveness in this role.

  5. Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams in fast-paced environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

  1. Prior exposure to AI, legal tech, or training initiatives.
  2. Experience at a corporate law firm in either M&A or fund formation for private equity firms.

Why Join:

  1. This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of law and technology.
  2. You will help define how AI is developed for a new generation of legal practitioners.
  3. You will apply your experience in a high-impact research environment.
