Theย Surveying and Geomatics Business Unit is seeking a remotely-based Mobile LiDAR Practice Leader.

A typical day as a Mobile LiDAR Practice Leader involves providing technical leadership and support to the mobile LiDAR team, reviewing project progress, performing QA/QC, and ensuring compliance with established standard operating procedures. You will collaborate with project managers, surveyors, engineers, and GIS professionals to plan and execute mobile LiDAR acquisitions,ย identifyย opportunities to incorporate remote sensing technologies into projects, and deliver high-quality geospatial solutions. The role also includes mentoring team members, refiningย workflowsย and processing standards, evaluating emerging technologies, and working closely with the Remote Sensing Practice Leader to develop strategic partnerships, strengthen industry relationships, and support business development efforts that expand our mobile LiDAR services.

What You'll DoKey Responsibilities:
  • Lead end to end LiDAR surveys and processing forย trajectory basedย systemsย 
  • Conduct quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) in accordanceย with inย accordance with project specifications and industry standardsย 
  • Develop and refine internal LiDAR processing standards and best practicesย ย 
  • Manage mobile LiDAR collection teamย ย 
  • Coordinate with surveyors, engineers, and GIS professionals to support project needsย 
  • Assistย with project scoping, scheduling, and technical proposalsย 
  • Assistย with development of marketing materials for internal and external sales effortsย 
  • Mentor and provide technical oversight to junior techniciansย 
  • Evaluate and implement new LiDAR technologies and software toolsย 
  • Maintain and track equipment and vehicles to ensure safe, proper operationย 
What You BringRequired Qualifications:
  • Familiarity with 3D laser scanning, inertial navigation, GPS data collection, and data post-processing techniques.ย 
  • Strong knowledge of geospatial data formatsย 
  • Strong knowledge of datums and coordinate systemsย 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skillsย 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a teamย 
  • Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving/analytical skillsย ย 
  • Willingness to travelย ย 
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years in LiDARย acquisition and processingย 
  • Business development experience or service sales experienceย ย 
  • Softwareย proficiencies:ย RiProcess,ย Applanixย Pospac, Bentley/Microstationย products,ย Topodot,ย Terrasolidย products
  • Experience using advanced or non-traditional geospatial technologies such as scanning, modeling, or AI-assisted data analysisย
