Job description

Digital Aerial Solutions LLC (DAS) is looking for an entry-level Surveyor/Sensor Operator who has some experience or would like to learn the aspects of survey and mapping and the aspects of airborne lidar and imagery acquisition. Applicants must be able to work in a group environment and be team players as well as work alone and problem solve. The Survey aspect of the position requires a willingness to learn and support current company SOPs for GPS survey, control survey, hydrographic survey and topographic survey and mapping. The Sensor Operator aspect of the position requires the operation of various airborne sensors in the field aboard fixed wing aircraft, perform work duties at various times and schedules when optimal flying conditions are present, including nights and weekends, and upload, analyze and qc data collected from the field. New candidates will be provided training.

Qualifications:

·         Must be able to travel overnight as needed for extended periods.

·         Must have good communication skills.

·         GIS related experience a plus.

·         Strong organizational skills, good time-management, an attention to detail and analytical skills.

·         Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.

·         Proficiency in basic computer applications, especially MS Office.

·         Minimum High school graduate.

Job Responsibilities:

·         Must have the desire to learn new technologies, software, hardware, methodologies and assist team to operate at maximum efficiency.

·         Individuals must demonstrate energy, drive and passion toward acquisition to succeed.

·         Perform survey and mapping projects that include LiDAR, Bathymetric, Topographic, Hydrographic, and field data collection.

·         Responsible for project quality control and quality assurance processes.

·         Pay strict attention to details and always be focused on maximizing production while maintaining quality control.

·         Must be a helpful team player & problem solver.

·         Adhere to deadlines and high volume of work.

·         Assist production team in achieving technical quality standards while meeting production schedules.

·         Adhere to project and task level budgets and goals by reporting on daily production metrics.

·         Install sensors and equipment into aircraft with support from teammates.

·         Help perform basic maintenance and inspection of aircraft.

·         Assist in office production work as needed during down-time in the field.

Physical Requirements:

·         Ability to fly airborne missions of 3-6 hours in duration, potentially multiple times per day/night with rest between.

·         Work during any period of day, early morning, late evenings, and\or weekends, with adequate rest time between operations.

·         Deployed for extended period of times.

·         Not prone to motion sickness.

·         Individual ability to lift up to 50lbs.

·         Ability to operate in outdoor conditions in various seasons.

License/Experience:

·         Driver's License (Required)

·         Surveyor experience (Preferred)

·         Sensor Operator experience (Preferred)
