Key Responsibilities
  • Act as the primary point of contact with families, maintaining clear and proactive communication to support their needs.
  • Conduct individual, family, and group therapy sessions utilizing our clinical model, focusing on Attachment-Based Family Therapy to enhance relationships and improve emotional well-being.
  • Facilitate new Family Orientations, Welcome Presentations, and Family Support Groups to engage families in the therapeutic process.
  • Prepare and complete thorough documentation including assessments, treatment plans, progress notes, contact notes, and discharge summaries, ensuring compliance with established standards and timelines.
  • Utilize digital tools such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Electronic Medical Records (EMR) to accurately enter and maintain client data.
  • Participate in weekly treatment team meetings, staff meetings, and clinical supervision to collaboratively discuss client progress and strategies.
  • Represent Positive Progress Counseling Center at meetings, trainings, and conferences, contributing to community outreach and professional development efforts.
  • Independently manage your schedule to maximize productivity and ensure effective service delivery to clients.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on adolescents and young adults, addressing a range of mental health issues including anxiety, depression, trauma, substance abuse, and family dynamics. Empowering clients to navigate their challenges and fostering their emotional and psychological resilience is at the heart of your work.

Qualifications
  • A Masterโ€™s Degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a closely related field from an accredited or state-approved institution is required.
  • Must possess a valid and active licensure in the state of Florida (e.g., LMFT).
  • Strong capability to work with individuals, groups, or families, particularly with adolescents and young adults experiencing emotional distress.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in therapy related to mental health issues, substance abuse, eating disorders, or trauma-informed care is preferred.
  • Experience with Attachment-Based Family Therapy or similar relational therapy modalities is highly desirable.
