Thermal Behavioral Center is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Mental Health Counselor to join our expanding team. This full-time remote role allows you to provide critical mental health services while working within the supportive framework of our outpatient facility. The ideal candidate will utilize their expertise in therapeutic practices to improve the quality of life for our diverse clientele, making a meaningful difference in their mental health journey.

Work Environment

Although primarily remote, you may occasionally participate in on-site meetings or training sessions at our outpatient office in Oxnard, California, utilizing the state-of-the-art facilities available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify patient needs and develop personalized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
  • Provide short-term individual counseling and tailored crisis intervention services, addressing a range of emotional and psychological issues.
  • Facilitate group therapy sessions and workshops focusing on topics relevant to mental wellness, such as coping strategies, stress management, and social skills development.
  • Collaborate with medical professionals, social workers, and community organizations to provide holistic care, maximizing support for each patientโ€™s unique situation.
  • Engage in public outreach initiatives, such as mental health awareness campaigns, to foster understanding and reduce stigma in the community.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Qualifications
  • A valid and active state license, such as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD).
  • A Bachelorโ€™s degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field is required, though a Masterโ€™s or Doctoral degree is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of mental health issues affecting diverse patient populations and demonstrated ability to apply appropriate therapeutic approaches.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively build relationships with patients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
  • Familiarity with brief therapy models and evidence-based practices applicable in an outpatient counseling environment.
  • Ability to thrive in a remote work setting while managing multiple tasks and maintaining a quality of care that meets organizational standards.
Preferred Experience
  • Previous experience in an outpatient mental health setting or a hospital counseling center.
  • Proficiency with telehealth platforms and digital mental health tools.
  • Experience in conducting group therapy or educational workshops.

  • Annual salary range of USD 100,000 to 120,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
