Lead the design, development, and evolution of our next-generation mobile platform supporting scalable, high-performance applications across iOS and Android. This role requires solid experience in cross-platform mobile development and platform architecture, with supporting experience in native mobile technologies. You will provide technical leadership, drive modernization efforts, and guide engineering teams in building robust, scalable mobile solutions while incorporating modern technologies to enhance platform capabilities and performance.

You'll enjoy the flexibility to work remotely * from anywhere within the U.S. as you take on some tough challenges.

For all hires in the Minneapolis or Washington, D.C. area, you will be required to work in the office a minimum of four days per week.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Architecture & Platform Leadership: Define and drive the technical roadmap across cross-platform (React Native) and native (iOS, Android) solutions  
  • Hands-on Development: Deliver clean, scalable, and maintainable mobile code across platform layers  
  • Cross-Platform Strategy: Lead adoption and evolution of React Native while supporting and modernizing native mobile capabilities  
  • Framework & Tooling: Establish shared libraries, SDKs, and platform components to unify mobile development  
  • Performance & Security: Ensure high-performance, secure, and reliable mobile applications  
  • Collaboration: Partner with product, backend, and design teams to deliver seamless user experiences  
  • Mentorship & Leadership: Provide technical leadership and develop engineers across the mobile platform  
  • Platform Modernization: Guide teams through architectural improvements and transitions (e.g., native cross-platform)  
  • Emerging Tech
    • Design, develop, and integrate AI-enabled capabilities into mobile platform solutions to address complex business challenges, with a focus on responsible and secure implementation
    • Leverage enterprise-approved AI tools to streamline workflows, automate tasks, and drive engineering productivity and continuous improvement
    • Evaluate and incorporate modern technologies, including AI-enabled capabilities, to enhance platform performance, scalability, and innovation

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field or relevant experience
  • Solid experience in:

    • Mobile development: iOS (Swift) and/or Android (Kotlin/Java)
  • Proven experience:
    • Building scalable mobile platforms
    • Leading engineering teams / technical direction
  • Experience with:
    • APIs (REST/GraphQL)
    • Cloud platforms
    • CI/CD and modern engineering practices

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with React Native in production environments
  • Experience transitioning from native cross-platform architectures
  • Experience integrating AI/ML in mobile
  • Experience building platform-level / shared mobile capabilities
  • Solid understanding of global scale apps, performance, and reliability

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The salary for this role will range from $112,700 - $193,200 annually based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
