Thrive Wellness Counseling Services is actively seeking a dedicated and licensed mental health counselor to join our team as a Senior Licensed Mental Health Counselor. Work Environment

The position entails a remote work setting, offering you the flexibility to manage your schedule while ensuring that patient needs are met effectively. Our typical work hours are Monday through Friday, from 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, with some flexibility required to accommodate patients requesting additional support after hours. Our remote infrastructure is designed to facilitate seamless communication and collaboration among team members, enhancing our collective ability to provide high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed cultural assessments to identify patients' unique backgrounds, experiences, and mental health needs, using this information to develop tailored treatment plans.
• Implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions, adapting your approach to fit the individual cultural contexts of patients, whether in individual, family, or group therapy settings.
• Facilitate therapy sessions focused on addressing mental health concerns, coping strategies, resilience building, and promoting overall psychological well-being.
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, psychologists, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a cohesive treatment approach, providing coordinated care and referring to additional services when necessary.
• Provide crisis intervention, responding promptly to mental health emergencies and offering support to patients and their families during high-stress situations.
• Educate patients and their families about various mental health conditions, treatment modalities, available resources, and coping strategies, empowering them to take an active role in their mental health journey.
• Maintain thorough and accurate documentation of sessions in compliance with legal, ethical standards and organizational policies, utilizing electronic health record (EHR) systems.
• Engage actively in team meetings and case discussions, sharing insights, receiving feedback, and participating in cultural competency training to continuously improve personal practice and team effectiveness.
• Stay abreast of the latest research in mental health and apply best practices to ensure the quality and effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

Qualifications

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
• A current, valid license (LMFT, LPC, or LCSW) to practice in Virginia.
• Strong understanding of mental health disorders and evidence-based treatment methodologies, particularly through a cultural lens.
• Proven experience in providing individual and group therapy, demonstrating cultural responsiveness and therapeutic adaptability.
• Exceptional crisis intervention skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication proficiency, capable of building strong relationships with a diverse clientele.
• Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) systems and digital communication tools.
• A commitment to maintaining ethical practices and confidentiality in all professional interactions.
• Team-oriented mindset with the capacity for effective collaboration in multidisciplinary environments.

Preferred Experience

While the above qualifications are essential, candidates with additional experience in working with marginalized populations, trauma-informed care practices, or specific therapeutic modalities (such as CBT or DBT) will be given preference. Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $70,000 to $100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
