Job description

Payroll Tax Compliance Analyst for Accounting department of global law firm. This is a remote role. Candidate is responsible for monitoring employer and employee tax contributions/reconciliations firm wide.

This significant role ensures compliance with federal, state and local payroll tax legislation. Ideal candidates have an accounting/payroll background and current in-depth knowledge of tax legislation, audit requirements, payroll procedures, and accounting methods. Duties: Evaluate multi-jurisdiction payroll tax data and calculations to ensure accurate payroll reporting to federal, state and local agencies. Prepare/process accurate federal, multi-state and multi-jurisdiction withholding tax payments.

Manage correspondence with Workday, ADP, and other payroll-related businesses, including all federal/state compliance notices from tax and/or regulatory agencies. Responsible for reconciliations/balancing between third-party tax reports and Workday tax reports. For all quarterly and year-end reporting.

Responsible for detailed analysis of all payroll entries impacting accuracy of tax withholding and reporting. Outline, document, and review payroll tax processing and reconciliation procedures. Work closely with the Director and Payroll team to facilitate maintenance of documentation ensuring accurate and up-to-date representation of processes.

Collaborate with General Ledger Team to ensure prompt reconciliation to tax variances. Remain up to date with legislative changes and various tax rates and rate setup in Workday and ADP. Position Requirements: Bachelorโ€™s degree, ideally in Accounting, Finance or Business. Must have at least five years of payroll and tax experience, with three or more yearsโ€™ experience working with multi-state payroll tax.

**Advanced expertise with HRIS-Workday. Fluency with Excel. Proven success presenting technical data in an easy to understand and concise manner to stakeholders.
