Job description

Conflicts Attorney remote - for top tier global law firm. The Conflicts Attorneys address conflicts of interest arising from taking on new work, new clients, or new hires. Other duties may include responding to RFPs or requests for information from insurers, assisting in aspects of new client/matter intake, establishing, and ending attorney-client relationships, and other related areas. Responsibilities: analyzes results from conflicts database and outside source searches to identify potential/actual conflicts posed by new work or new hires.

Advises attorneys regarding conflicts clearance. Drafts conflicts waivers or takes other steps to cure conflicts. Supervises the work of the nonlawyer conflicts staff.

Documents or audits steps taken to clear conflicts. Works with ethical walls and screens managed within Intapp Walls tool. Maintains the conflicts database with appropriate information about firm clients and matters, client subsidiaries, affiliates, etc.

On-call coverage on weekends/holidays as needed. Assists London team members with overflow anti-money laundering compliance activities. Position Requirements: Law degree from an accredited law school required. Bar membership in the jurisdiction where the Conflicts Attorney is located required.

Law firm conflicts experience required. Familiarity with the Model and D.C. Rules of Professional Conduct or analogous rules in other jurisdictions.

Familiarity with anti-money laundering compliance regimes is ideal. Strong legal/business research ability using various online databases and print resources required. Familiarity with modern business organization models, structures and ownership is required.

Excellent analytical, written and interpersonal communications skills. Ability to distill a quantity of complex data into a clear explanation of the legal issue and recommended steps to be taken. Excellent judgment, including knowing when to escalate an issue.

Demonstrated customer service focus. Facility with MS Office required. Familiarity with Intapp OPEN or other automated conflict of interest clearance workflow as found in AmLaw 100 firms.

Supervisory experience or capacity to provide instruction in a business setting. Salary is commensurate with experience $181k - $226k.
