Job description

The Employment Law Group (TELG) is a plaintiff-side trial firm representing employees who stand up to wrongdoing in the workplace with practice areas including whistleblower, qui tam, and discrimination law.

The Fellow role provides substantive project-based legal support to help busy litigation case teams with both day-to-day action items and mid-to-long term assignments. Working on a variety of litigation matters, the Fellows utilize an online database system to manage incoming project requests, to organize workflow, and to prioritize deadlines. The role requires significant collaboration, communication, and coordination within the Fellow team and with the litigation case teams.

This fellowship aims to shape recent law school graduates into successful future litigators as they gain valuable hands-on legal experience and learn the inner workings of a busy litigation firm. Throughout their tenure, Fellows will grow their lawyering skills exponentially, including but not limited to persuasive and effective writing, clear and concise communication, client billing, and case strategy. TELG supports this development with a thorough orientation onboarding, ongoing training, and mentorship from Principals and Associates.

Fellows work directly with Law Clerks, Litigation Associates, and Principals on cases to provide in -depth assistance throughout all phases of litigation. Duties include:

  • Conducting comprehensive legal research;
  • Taking lead on writing pleadings, motions, briefs, and discovery-related correspondence, including deposition outlines, as well as performing detailed review and editing of existing drafts;
  • Reviewing and annotating deposition transcripts;
  • Assisting with all aspects of trial preparation, including drafting pre- and post-trial motions, oppositions, and replies, testimony charts, exhibit lists, and mock witness examinations; and
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have successfully passed the bar

Fellows need to remain flexible and adaptive to successfully jump from case to case and quickly learn the vital facts and arguments of each matter. Ideal candidates are proactive and highly motivated professionals with strong organizational, legal writing, time management, and communication skills.

TELG offers a competitive salary, comprehensive benefits package, and paid PTO, including professional development. TELG also pays bar membership fees. The position has a flexible workspace policy that accommodates in-office, remote, or hybrid work options at the Fellow’s discretion, with IT equipment to outfit a remote office space.

Application Process

Interested applicants must apply via our website and should submit a letter of interest, a resume, an up-to-date unofficial transcript from law school, and a writing sample (legal writing strongly preferred).
