In this role, you will be responsible for the following:

• Performing thorough crisis assessments and offering immediate interventions for clients experiencing acute mental health emergencies.
• Providing empathetic and culturally sensitive counseling to individuals in crisis, ensuring they feel heard and understood.
• Collaborating with law enforcement and emergency personnel to ensure client safety during critical situations.
• Delivering follow-up care and crafting personalized support plans to aid clients after initial crises.
• Employing advanced crisis intervention techniques and de-escalation strategies to effectively manage challenging scenarios.
• Participating in professional development opportunities to enhance crisis intervention skills and therapeutic practices.

Your primary focus will be on individuals facing addiction and mental health crises. You will provide comprehensive support to clients dealing with substance misuse, trauma, emotional crises, and suicidal ideation. The diverse backgrounds of our clients require an approach that recognizes and respects their cultural contexts and unique needs, fostering a safe environment for healing and recovery.

To be considered for this role, candidates must meet the following qualifications:

• Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• Valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credentials.
• Minimum of 3 years of recent experience in crisis intervention and mental health counseling, particularly in addiction therapy.
• Evidence of additional training or specialization in crisis counseling and trauma-informed care.
• Expertise in delivering immediate support to those in mental health crises.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, enabling the building of rapport with clients in distress.
• Ability to conduct rapid assessments and develop tailored crisis intervention plans.
• Understanding of ethical and legal standards applicable to crisis counseling.

While not mandatory, the following experiences will enhance candidacy:

• Previous work within a telehealth model or virtual counseling environment.
• Experience working in a multidisciplinary team, particularly in emergency or crisis settings.
• Proficiency in implementing evidence-based practices specifically relevant to addiction therapy.
