Contract Position

Location: Remote (U.S.) — Central or Eastern Time Zone required

Engagement Type: Contract, through end of 2026 with potential to extend

Compensation: $90–$110/hour, commensurate with experience

Fluent German and English (written and spoken) are required.

Position Summary

We're looking for a hands-on Finance & Accounting Manager to support the VP, Global Controller with day-to-day accounting operations across a global, multi-entity organization. This is an individual-contributor role — it is not a people-management position. We need someone who wants to do the work directly: close the books, manage cash, reconcile accounts, and build out clean, well-documented processes. The ideal candidate is self-driven, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership in a lean environment with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

•     Own core components of the monthly close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting

•     Manage cash flow monitoring and forecasting across the organization

•     Manage and reconcile multiple bank accounts and support banking relationships

•     Support M&A activity, including due diligence, integration, and post-close accounting

•     Ensure accounting practices comply with U.S. GAAP across global, multi-entity operations

•     Build, maintain, and improve accounting processes, controls, and documentation

•     Support external audit requests and prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation

•     Partner directly with the VP, Global Controller on ad hoc financial analysis and special projects

Required Qualifications

•     7–10 years of progressive accounting experience

•     Fluent German and English (written and spoken) are required.

•     Hands-on experience with Sage accounting software

•     Experience with mergers and acquisitions (due diligence, integration, and/or purchase accounting)

•     Experience in a global, multi-entity organization

•     Strong working knowledge of U.S. GAAP

•     Audit experience, whether supporting external audits or from a public accounting background

•     Demonstrated experience building and documenting accounting processes and controls

•     A true individual contributor — someone who wants to do the work, not manage a team

•     Self-starter who is proactive, resourceful, and thrives with minimal oversight

•     Strong problem-solving skills and high attention to detail

•     Based in, and able to work core business hours within, the Central or Eastern time zone

Preferred Qualifications

•     CPA or CPA candidate

•     Prior experience in a private equity-backed or fast-growth company

•     Experience supporting an ERP transition or implementation

Work Arrangement

This role is fully remote within the U.S. Because it requires close daily collaboration with the VP, Global Controller and the broader finance team, candidates must be based in, and able to reliably work core business hours within, the Central or Eastern time zone.
