Department: Survey
Reports to: Department Manager
Education: College-Level Courses in Land Surveying
Registration: INDOT Right of Way Plan Development Certified
Experience: Not less than 3 years in Land Surveying or Right of Way Engineering
Duties:
โ€ข Produce Federal, State, and Local mandated documents required for Land Acquisition in pending construction projects
โ€ข Perform project research, review, and interpret title work
โ€ข Prepare legal descriptions, right of way plans, right of way plats, area computations, calculation sheets, and stakeouts
โ€ข Interpret and review Location Control Route Survey Plats and transportation design plans
โ€ข Communicate with field crews and office staff to provide quality services
โ€ข Communicate with clients, other consultants, and government officials for project-related items
โ€ข Maintain confidentiality of information regarding clients and company practices
โ€ข Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements
Skills:
โ€ข Able to work independently, with support from the Department Manager or other Survey staff
โ€ข Possess good communication skills
โ€ข Able to work within a "team concept."
โ€ข Proficient in the use of the INDOT Right of Way Engineering Manual
โ€ข Working knowledge of the INDOT Design Manual - Part III Location Surveys
โ€ข Working knowledge of the State of Indiana Administrative Code - Rule 12
โ€ข Working knowledge of the INDOT Design Process
โ€ข Working knowledge of the INDOT Land Acquisition Process
โ€ข Proficient in AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, and Excel
โ€ข Working knowledge of Civil 3D and Carlson software
โ€ข Ability to meet deadlines
โ€ข Expertise in geometry and trigonometry
Physical Requirements:
โ€ข Able to work seated for 9 or more hours per workday
โ€ข Able to work 40 or more hours per work week, as needed
Other Requirements:
โ€ข Possess a valid Indiana driver's license
โ€ข Agree to abide by the personnel policies identified in the Company Policy
โ€ข Designated as a flexible position as defined in the Company Policy
