Are you a dynamic sales leader with a passion for healthcare and a proven track record of driving growth and developing high-performing teams? Cardinal Health is seeking an exceptional Region Sales Director OR Products (RD) to lead our sales team across Michigan, Indiana, Kentucky, West Ohio (Cincinnati to Toledo only).

In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for expanding Cardinal Health's footprint within new and existing acute care customer bases. You will lead, mentor, and inspire a team of approximately seven dedicated Cardinal Health branded OR Product sales specialists, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability. This is a chance to make a significant impact, shaping sales strategy, developing talent, and directly contributing to improved patient outcomes through the delivery of critical medical products. The Regional Sales Director (RD) is responsible for handling high-stakes, difficult conversations with customers, moving beyond the day-to-day troubleshooting to address strategic, financial, or relationship-threatening issues & solutions.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Sales Leadership & Growth:
    • Develop and execute a comprehensive regional sales strategy to achieve and exceed aggressive territory and customer-specific objectives for both new and existing business.
    • Drive consistent sales execution, instilling discipline and accountability across your team.
    • Provide reliable competitive intelligence to stakeholders, informing strategic decisions.
  • Team Development & Coaching:
    • Cultivate a high-performance sales culture through robust performance management, talent development, and continuous coaching.
    • Actively engage with your team through regular field visits and customer interactions, providing hands-on guidance and support.
    • Foster effective teamwork, innovation, and a strong sense of accountability.
  • Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:
    • Build, maintain, and enhance strategic relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and positioning Cardinal Health as a trusted partner.
    • Relationship Management & Restoration: Owning the "escalation" and rebuilding trust with key stakeholders after a breakdown in service or trust. May need to deliver bad news directly, negotiate complex resolutions, restore trust, and align customer expectations with company capabilities.
    • Design and implement "win-win" strategies that create mutual value for Cardinal Health and our clients.
  • Operational Excellence & Collaboration:
    • Leverage Cardinal Health's CRM system to maintain accurate records, track business performance, monitor sales leads, and execute retention and expansion strategies.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal Cardinal Health teams to ensure seamless support and mutually beneficial outcomes across the segment.
    • Act as a change agent, leading and guiding your team through evolving market dynamics and business initiatives.
  • Market Insight & Professional Development:
    • Stay abreast of the competitive landscape, market trends, and industry insights, effectively communicating these to internal and external stakeholders.
    • Champion continuous professional development for yourself and your team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of successful sales experience, with a strong preference for healthcare sales.
  • Leadership Ability: Proven capacity to lead, motivate, and manage remote successful sales team.
  • Strategic Skills: Experience in developing sales strategies, forecasting, and analyzing market trends.
  • Decision-Making & Problem-Solving: Applying structured methods to make high-stakes, rational decisions.
  • Analytical & Communication Skills: Strong ability to analyze data, present to executives, and communicate complex technical or clinical information.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong computer skills, including CRM tools like Salesforce.
  • Strong matrix management skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to travel 50%. Must reside within the region.
  • Ability to work remotely from a dedicated, quiet, private, and distraction-free home environment with access to high-speed internet. (Cardinal Health provides necessary technology, and computer equipment; you are responsible for high-speed internet and cell phone).
  • Customer/Vendor credentialing may be required (this may include vaccinations). More details will be provided if you are selected.

Anticipated pay range: $194,000 - $241,000 (includes targeted variable pay)
