Job description

HillHouse Renovation has an immediate opening for an In-Home Design Consultant who is confident and ambitious, with a background in residential construction and a strong understanding of interior design. You must know your way around a tape measure, your mobile phone, and your laptop.

The In-Home Design Consultant position offers the flexibility to balance work with personal commitments, making it an ideal opportunity for professionals with school-aged children. Each Monday through Friday, we schedule 1 to 2 in-home appointments daily between 9 AM and 2 PM. When not out on appointments, you can work from home or your favorite coffee shop to finish your client notes.


This is an hourly position, and mileage is reimbursed for travel between your home and your appointments.

Your Responsibilities

Your sales appointments are pre-qualified and pre-scheduled with local homeowners who have requested the consultation. After being assigned a skilled and capable mentor for your ongoing development, you will:

  • Conduct in-home design consultations and assist our clients with design ideas.
  • Take measurements of the project area.
  • Photograph the project area.
  • Use our proprietary software to create a scope of work and basic floor plans for our estimator.
  • Serve as a crucial liaison between the client and the estimator.

Candidate Qualities and Job Requirements

  • High standard of integrity and strong work ethic.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills, excellent selling acumen, and an unwavering dedication to customer service.
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Superior organization and planning skills with precise attention to detail.
  • Proficient with Google Sheets, Google Docs, and other general computer skills.
  • Minimum of three years of sales experience or experience with residential remodeling and renovation.
  • Must have reliable and presentable transportation.

Compensation:
This position offers a base salary range of $40,000–$50,000 per year, commensurate with experience and qualifications. We offer:
