Position Overview

Work Environment

This role is fully remote, allowing for flexibility and convenience in your daily schedule. Key Responsibilities

As a Remote Mental Health Counselor, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Engaging actively in clinical consultations and interdisciplinary learning sessions to enhance collaborative care.
• Completing thorough clinical documentation in compliance with organizational and state guidelines.
• Delivering direct services, which include comprehensive behavioral health assessments, individualized counseling sessions, and effective case management tailored to our target population.
• Contributing to the overall development of treatment plans that align with the best practices in mental health care.
• Participating in peer reviews and case discussions to continuously improve client care and therapeutic approaches.
• Performing additional duties as required to support the overall mission of the organization.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will focus on providing mental health services primarily to Black birthing families, ensuring that cultural sensitivity and relevance are incorporated into every aspect of care. Your ability to establish meaningful connections and trust within this community will be pivotal in enhancing treatment outcomes. Through your work, you will play a vital role in addressing the unique mental health challenges faced by this demographic.

Qualifications

We require candidates to have the following qualifications:

• A Master’s degree in Counseling, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, or Mental Health Counseling.
• Possession of a current and active license in the state of California as a Social Worker (LCSW), Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC).
• Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrating the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of clients and interdisciplinary teams.
• Proficiency in utilizing remote counseling tools and electronic health record systems.

Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, ideal candidates will have experience working with marginalized communities and familiarity with the specific challenges Black birthing families encounter. Previous experience in outpatient settings or providing telehealth services is also highly desirable. Candidates will thrive in a setting that requires adaptability, cultural competence, and a commitment to professional development.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this position ranges from $120,000 to $130,000 annually, commensurate with your experience and caseload management.
