Salary Range: $82,250 to $153,000

Final determination of a successful candidate’s starting pay will vary based on a number of factors, including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, education and experience. ABOUT THE ROLE
The Sr Data Analyst at Cupertino Electric plays a critical role in transforming complex business and technical data into actionable insights that drive operational efficiency and inform strategic decision-making. This senior-level position combines deep technical expertise with strong business acumen to deliver advanced analytics and reporting across an integrated technology ecosystem.

The role is responsible for leading analytics initiatives and establishing best practices for data analysis and reporting. The Sr. Data Analyst partners closely with both technical teams and business leaders to design and deliver scalable, high-impact data solutions, while also mentoring junior analysts and fostering a data-driven culture across the organization.

Data Analysis and Reporting

  • Lead the development and ownership of Power BI dashboards and reports to provide insights into business operations, project performance and decision making, and financial metrics.

Analytics Leadership

  • Define KPIs and data standards across business units
  • Act as a subject matter expert (SME) for enterprise data domains
  • Frame ambiguous business problems into structured analytical approaches 
  • Deliver compelling data storytelling tailored to executive audiences

Technical Implementation 

  • Establish and maintain documentation standards
  • Design and optimize semantic models in Power BI
  • Contribute to architecture decisions for analytics and reporting platforms
  • Partner with Data Engineering to define, validate, and evolve data models and pipelines to support analytics scalability

Business Partnership

  • Drive adoption of data solutions across business units
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on data-driven decisions

ABOUT YOU

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to lead discovery with executive stakeholders
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with large-scale databases
  • Expert in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query
  • Experience with construction management software (Procore, ACC)
  • Demonstrated experience leading analytics projects end-to-end
  • Experience mentoring junior analysts or leading teams (formal or informal)
  • Ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy, making independent decisions on analytical approaches, data design, and reporting strategies.
  • Understanding of construction industry reporting requirements
  • Solution-focused, logical, and framework-based thinking with the ability to generate support for ideas and plans.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the construction or engineering industry

  • Proven experience leading analytics initiatives in large, complex environments

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.

Education and Experience: Typically requires 5-8+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or equivalent experience.
