The mission of the Analytics Engineering team at our client is to enable, facilitate, and develop their ability to make data-driven strategic decisions. We are looking for Analytics Engineers to build and own domain datasets that will power insights, executive reporting, and strategic initiatives. This individual contributor role will focus on developing AE’s nascent partnerships with stakeholders across the org, aligning and collaborating closely with the Strategy and Business Intelligence team to ensure business objectives are measured and insights developed. You will spend most of your time collaborating with stakeholders to translate business needs into analytical datasets, owning the end-to-end data lifecycle and enabling self-serve analytics across the organization. If you enjoy going deep into data, getting creative to uncover insights and solve problems, and seeing the real-world downstream impact of your data in strategic decisions, this role is a great opportunity to dive in and shape the future of data here.

Rate: $55.00 to $65.00/hr. w2

Responsibilities:
  • Liaise and partner with Data/Business Analysts, Data Scientists, Data Engineers, and other business stakeholders to translate business requirements into actionable analytics datasets.
  • Design and implement the scaled data architecture that enables analysis and data-driven decision making across one or more data domains.
  • Design, implement, and maintain scaled data pipelines to ensure high-quality, reliable, and sustainable data delivery processes.
  • Design and implement data quality checks and anomaly detection for dataset certification and KPI computation accuracy.
  • Establish and refine the data catalogue/semantic layer to ensure proper usage by non-technical stakeholders and AI systems alike.
  • Collaborate with Strategy and Business Intelligence partners on dashboard/reporting designs and implementations that directly support key strategic decisions.
  • Monitor and optimise workflows for performance and cost efficiency.
  • Apply data governance, security, privacy, and hygiene best practices across the entire data lake to ensure purpose-appropriate usage and PII compliance.

Experience Requirements:

  • [Junior] 2+ or [Mid-level] 5+ or [Senior] 8+ years of experience in roles where the primary responsibility involves data modelling, building data artifacts/pipelines, and scaling self-serve analytical capabilities.
  • [Junior] 2+ or [Mid-level] 5+ or [Senior] 8+ years of experience with SQL, ETL/ELT, data modelling, and at least one programming language (Python required).
  • Strong experience in the AWS ecosystem (Athena, S3, Glue, Lake Formation, Lambda).
  • Strong understanding of data lakehouse principles and modern data architecture.
  • Strong communication skills to build stakeholder relationships and drive alignment across cross-functional partners.
  • Advanced degree in a STEM field preferred.
  • Experience designing and implementing reports and/or dashboards using technologies such as Microsoft PowerBI, Looker, Tableau, or similar.
  • Experience with and/or contributions to Apache projects including Airflow, Arrow, Hudi, Iceberg, Parquet, Spark.

Education Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information/Data Science, Operations Research, Econometrics, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience required. Advanced degree in a STEM field preferred.
