What is a remote jewelry industry job?

A remote jewelry industry job refers to a position within the jewelry sector that can be performed from home or another location outside of a traditional office or studio. These roles may include jewelry design, sales, customer service, marketing, e-commerce management, or even virtual consultations with clients. Remote jewelry professionals often use digital tools to manage projects, communicate with team members, and interact with customers. This flexibility allows companies to hire talent from a wider geographical area and enables employees to maintain a better work-life balance.

What are some common challenges faced when working remotely in the jewelry industry, and how can they be addressed?

Remote roles in the jewelry industry often involve challenges such as limited hands-on access to products, difficulty in building relationships with clients or suppliers, and coordinating effectively with design or production teams. To overcome these, it's important to leverage high-quality digital communication tools, participate in regular virtual team meetings, and utilize detailed product imagery or 3D modeling software. Building strong digital documentation and maintaining proactive communication can help ensure smooth collaboration and effective workflow, even when working from different locations.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a remote jewelry industry role, and why are they important?

To thrive in a remote jewelry industry role, you need a solid understanding of jewelry design, materials, and sales, often supported by experience in retail or gemology. Familiarity with digital sales platforms, inventory management software, and design tools like CAD is typically required. Strong communication, attention to detail, and self-motivation are crucial soft skills for building client relationships and managing tasks independently. These competencies ensure effective product presentation, customer satisfaction, and efficient operations in a virtual work environment.

Ever wondered how your favorite local shops compete with the big guys? That's where we come in. We're Quilt Software, providing Main Street's unsung heroes - from quirky cheese shops to family-run jewelry stores - with the tools they need to compete. Last year, we helped 14,000+ shops make over $2 billion in sales with our family of industry-specific software solutions.
If you get a kick out of supporting local businesses, love great software, and want to be part of a company that's powering Main Street, we'd love to chat. Come join us in our quest to keep local retail not just alive, but thriving!
About the Job
We're hiring a part-time Content Specialist to plan, write, and sharpen the content that carries our brand(s). Reporting to the Content Marketing Manager, this role should be a perfect balance of creative and strategic: someone who enjoys storytelling and knows how to analyze content marketing performance to make improvements.
As our Content Specialist, you'll write compelling copy for various platforms, shape and maintain our brand voice, and develop engaging content that resonates with our audience. You'll write and edit across multiple formats and channels, then use performance data to refine what you publish.
Our ideal candidate is a strong writer and self-starter with sharp editorial judgment, an analytical mindset, and a passion for continuous learning. If you work well in a collaborative environment where you can apply both creative and analytical thinking to drive content results, we'd love to meet you.
Responsibilities
  • Write copy for various content types, including but not limited to blogs, long-form guides, landing pages, offers, industry reports, email, and social media captions.
  • Follow SEO and GEO/AEO best practices, creating content that ranks highly in organic search and gets cited by LLMs.
  • Build/stage assets and monitor content performance in our CMS, HubSpot.
  • Maintain brand voice and tone across content types.
  • Brainstorm new ways to increase visibility and improve organic metrics, like session to contact rate.
  • Ideate, execute, and measure the performance of all planned content types.

Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, media, or related field
  • 2+ years in content marketing
  • Experience writing content (including blogs, long-form guides, and landing pages) and optimizing it for SEO/GEO/AEO
  • Proficiency in content management systems (HubSpot preferred)
  • Exposure to performance data and analyzing content marketing metrics
  • Strategic thinker who can adapt, pivot, and stay ahead of industry trends
  • Strong communicator
  • Comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment
  • Comfortable adhering to multiple brand style guidelines and preferences
  • Ability to meet hard deadlines and communicate project status updates
Nice-To-Haves
  • Agency experience
  • Keyword research experience
  • Basic A/B testing experience
  • Basic design skills (e.g. Canva)
  • Experience with AI tools (Claude preferred)
  • Experience with digital marketing tools like Google Analytics and Semrush
  • Experience working for a fast-growing B2B SaaS company

Benefits
What We Offer
  • Part Time Employees accrue Paid Time Off
  • Opportunities for career growth and advancement within a rapidly growing company.
  • Fun and collaborative work environment with a focus on teamwork and innovation.

Compensation: $28-30 per hour, estimated 20 hours a week.
Location: Remote
Supervisory responsibilities: None
Notice: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time
