  • Serve as the primary point of contact for city, county, and other public agency clients
  • Review engineering plans, design packages, and project deliverables for quality and compliance
  • Guide engineers and designers working in Civil 3D and support strong internal execution
  • Coordinate across internal teams, subconsultants, and stakeholders to keep projects moving
  • Build trust-based client relationships that support repeat work and long-term partnerships
  • Help strengthen project management processes while contributing to the growth of the engineering group

Project Manager, Civil Engineering & Public Works Requirements:
  • Active California PE license with the ability to stamp plans
  • 10+ years of civil engineering experience
  • Strong background in public works or municipal infrastructure projects
  • Proven roadway project experience, including work such as paving, widening, sidewalks, curb ramps, and ADA-related improvements
  • Experience managing several projects at once in different phases
  • Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, or a comparable CAD background with the ability to get up to speed quickly
  • Confidence in a client-facing role with public agency stakeholders
  • Strong communication, organization, and project ownership skills

Nice-to-Haves as the Project Manager, Civil Engineering & Public Works:
  • Experience working directly with municipal clients, city engineers, or public works departments
  • Familiarity with Caltrans standards, Greenbook requirements, and local agency review processes
  • Experience with QA/QC practices for public works design
  • Comfort with project tracking tools and modern workflow systems
  • Background in a consulting environment serving public agencies
  • Interest in mentoring others and growing into broader team leadership

We Offer:
  • Base salary targeted at $185,000-$200,000, with flexibility for stronger candidates
  • Full-time role with a 36-hour workweek and Fridays off
  • Hybrid schedule with 3 in-office days and 1 remote day
  • Full medical, dental, and vision coverage
  • 401(k) with employer contribution and Day 1 vesting
  • 3 weeks of PTO plus holidays
  • Clear path toward future leadership and director-level growth
  • A collaborative environment that values stability, retention, and long-term relationships

Trueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
