Structural Engineering - Cold-Formed - Project Manager - Primary Responsibilities:

  • Organize and manage structural design efforts for multiple simultaneous projects while maintaining project budgets.
  • Manage and review structural engineering drawings for assigned projects/work assignments including the preparation of plans, schedules and details
  • Review structural systems of primarily cold-formed steel framing for a variety of healthcare, commercial, retail, multi-family residential, industrial and institutional buildings nationwide
  • Review Structural calculations for submittal
  • Manage CAD and BIM Technicians to produce shop drawings and BIM models
  • Manage engineers on the team on larger projects
  • Assist with training and mentoring team members and technical skills training for professional growth and development
  • Assist with plan review for team members
  • Communicate with clients and maintain project schedules and design budgets
  • Help lead business development efforts for cold-formed projects, including identifying new opportunities and writing proposals.
  • Develop and manage a portfolio of clients.
  • Perform and lead the structural design of various building design projects. This includes development of structural design documents, calculations, and specifications.
  • Perform construction administration duties.
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Structural Engineering - Cold-Formed - Project Manager - Skills and Requirements:

  • Bachelors of Science degree in Civil Engineering with a focus in Structural Engineering from a U.S. accredited college or university
  • Minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in structural design of cold-formed steel building structures. Some experience with oversight is a plus.
  • Extensive knowledge of cold-formed steel design and light steel framing.
  • Strong working knowledge of AISI standards for cold-formed steel framing projects.
  • Have ability to develop innovative solutions for complex problems.
  • Leadership mentality and ability to work well with others.
  • Good engineering judgement and decision making.
  • Professional Engineer Licensure required. Illinois Structural Engineer Licensure preferred.
  • Working knowledge of various structural analysis and design programs including CFS Designer & RISA.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Applicable U.S. based work experience
