About the role, Your Impact

Baxter & Woodman has a rewarding opportunity for a Wastewater Project Manager in our Wastewater Department. The Wastewater Project Manager will manage and design wastewater facility and infrastructure projects while developing business through management of existing clients. A successful candidate will benefit from a unique opportunity to advance their career path tailored to their interest of technical design, project management, team management, or business development.

Must-haves, what you will bring

  • 4 or more years of experience in the design and project management of water and wastewater projects including wastewater treatment plants.
  • Ability to lead themselves through project design
  • Excellent technical writing skills.
  • Strong written, verbal, computer, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work in a team environment.

What your day-to-day will look like, what you will learn on the job

  • Independently apply engineering principles and best practices while acting in responsible charge of projects of moderate complexity.
  • Plan, coordinate, and ensure successful completion of projects, including development of plans, specifications, and project documentation.
  • Develop and manage workplans with resource-loaded schedules, scopes, and budgets to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Lead and participate as a project manager or lead engineer on single- and multi-discipline teams.
  • Work on project teams on a variety of project types including reports, designs, and opportunities on design-build and alternative project delivery methods.
  • Make independent decisions and take responsibility for project engineering solutions and outcomes.
  • Provide ongoing design support and technical assistance throughout the construction phase for projects previously managed during the design stage,
  • Supervise, guide, and coordinate project staff, ensuring effective execution of assignments.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and development opportunities to team members.
  • Communicate effectively with clients, agencies, peers, and management; lead meetings and represent the organization externally.
  • Collaborate with planning and management teams to align project execution with organizational and departmental standards.
  • Support business development efforts, including preparation of proposals for professional services and project funding.
  • Contribute to training initiatives, including curriculum input and development of technical training content.

Education/Certification Requirements

  • B.S. in Civil Engineering
  • Registered professional engineering license, reciprocity through NCEES to multiple states preferred.

Compensation The pay range for this role is $90,000-$130,000. Actual compensation packages are based on several factors that are unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, depth of experience, and certifications.
