• Establish and nurture trusting relationships with clients, providing a safe space for them to candidly discuss their feelings and challenges.
• Employ evidence-based therapeutic interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI), to help clients identify triggers and develop coping strategies.
• Demonstrate exceptional active listening skills, allowing clients to feel heard and validated, thus promoting their emotional wellbeing.
• Collaborate with a team of interdisciplinary professionals, including social workers, medical staff, and other counselors, to form a cohesive care plan addressing multifaceted patient needs.
• Engage in continuous self-reflection and professional development activities to enhance therapeutic practices and stay updated on industry best practices.

As a Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Nimbus Therapy Services, you will work primarily with individuals facing emotional, psychological, and social challenges associated with alcohol use. Our clients come from varied backgrounds, each bringing unique experiences that require personalized attention and understanding. We are dedicated to creating individualized treatment approaches that respect and honor each client's journey.

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work or a closely related field is required.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) license.
• Demonstrated competence through a minimum of two (2) years' experience in a counseling role, with strong interpersonal and communication skills. Five (5) years of experience is preferred.
• Proficiency in using digital tools; familiarity with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook is essential for documentation and communication.

• Experience working with clients dealing with substance use disorders, specifically alcohol-related challenges.
• Familiarity with telehealth practices and the ability to navigate online counseling platforms effectively.
• Strong understanding of community resources for clients and their families for follow-up care and support.
