Key Responsibilities

• Establish meaningful therapeutic relationships with clients, creating a safe and open environment for them to share their thoughts and feelings about their alcohol use.
• Employ evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to individual client needs, such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Motivational Interviewing (MI), to help clients address their behavioral patterns effectively.
• Practice active listening and demonstrate empathy to validate client experiences, ensuring they feel respected and understood throughout their journey.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and addiction specialists, to deliver comprehensive care tailored to the diverse backgrounds of our clients.
• Engage in ongoing self-reflection and professional development, participating in trainings and workshops to refine skills and remain abreast of current best practices in mental health counseling.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on clients entering the detox center, many of whom are in emotionally vulnerable states looking to make significant changes in their lives. You will work with individuals from various backgrounds and experiences, each facing unique challenges related to substance use disorders. It’s your role to facilitate their recovery journey, equipping them with coping strategies and tools to maintain sobriety beyond treatment.

Qualifications

• A Master’s Degree in Social Work or a related field is required.
• Active and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
• At least two years of experience as a Social Worker in a relevant setting, with preferred experience totaling five years.
• Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication abilities essential for fostering client relationships.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and Outlook, to manage documentation and communications effectively.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in detox or addiction recovery environments is a significant plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in utilizing various counseling modalities tailored to individual client needs.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems for streamlined documentation and client management.

Compensation and Benefits
