Key Responsibilities
  • Establishing strong, trusting relationships with clients through active listening and empathetic engagement, ensuring they have a safe space to explore their thoughts and feelings.
  • Applying evidence-based therapeutic techniques tailored to individual needs, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) or motivational interviewing, to help clients overcome barriers to sobriety.
  • Facilitating group therapy sessions, offering clients peer support and shared experiences that foster a sense of community.
  • Conducting comprehensive assessments to devise customized treatment plans that align with the clients' goals and challenges.
  • Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of client interactions and progress while minimizing paperwork to prioritize client time.
  • Collaborating with a multidisciplinary team that may include social workers, psychiatrists, and medical professionals to ensure clients receive holistic care.
Patient Population / Client Focus

Your primary focus will be on individuals dealing with alcohol use disorders, many of whom come from various cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds. You will guide them in managing their dependencies and overcoming underlying issues that contribute to their behaviors. The role demands cultural competency and sensitivity to effectively connect with clients and honor their unique experiences, ensuring they feel valued and understood throughout their therapeutic journey.

Qualifications
  • A Master's Degree in Social Work or a related field is mandatory for this role.
  • Current and valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) certification.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in a social work capacity, with a preference for candidates having five (5) or more years of relevant experience.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, enabling effective client interactions and documentation.
  • Proficiency in standard computer applications, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook, to manage client information efficiently.
Preferred Experience
  • Demonstrated experience working with clients facing addiction and substance use disorders.
  • Advanced skills in applying therapeutic modalities such as ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy).
  • Knowledge of current trends, research, and best practices in addiction counseling.
