• Conduct detailed mental health assessments to evaluate the specific needs of elderly patients, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of their mental and physical health.
• Develop, implement, and regularly update personalized treatment plans that consider the complexities of aging, including cognitive changes and social circumstances.
• Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, focusing on individual and family therapy to effectively address conditions such as depression, anxiety, and dementia-related disorders.
• Work in close collaboration with geriatric psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to create a cohesive care plan that promotes overall well-being.
• Provide support during mental health crises, ensuring prompt intervention and comprehensive follow-up care for elderly patients.
• Educate patients and their families about mental health issues, empowering them with knowledge about treatment options and local community resources.
• Maintain accurate, confidential records in accordance with legal and ethical standards, ensuring the integrity of patient information.
• Participate actively in team meetings, case consultations, and ongoing professional development to enhance your skills and knowledge.
• Stay abreast of current research, advancements in geriatric psychiatry, and evidence-based practices to inform your therapeutic approach.

Your primary focus will be on the geriatric population, addressing a spectrum of mental health issues significant to older adults, including but not limited to depression, anxiety, and adjustment difficulties. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will engage with patients facing challenges such as cognitive decline and social isolation, ensuring that your therapeutic strategies foster resilience and improve their quality of life.

• A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LPCC, or LCSW in California is mandatory.
• A solid foundation of knowledge in geriatric mental health principles and evidence-based treatment methodologies is essential.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with an empathetic approach, facilitating effective rapport-building with elderly clients and their families.
• Proficiency in electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technology applications.
• An enthusiasm for continuous learning and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team is crucial.

• A minimum of two years of post-licensure experience in mental health therapy, particularly with older adults, is preferred.
• Experience conducting individual and family therapeutic sessions that specifically address the challenges faced by elderly clients.
• Familiarity with community resources and the ability to integrate these into treatment plans is advantageous.

The salary range for this full-time position is competitive, ranging from USD 75,000 to 100,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
