Job Title: Supply Chain Operations Manager

Department: Supply Chain

Reports to: Senior Supply Chain Manager

Location: Remote

 

Position Summary:

The Supply Chain Operations Manager is responsible for leading and optimizing end-to-end supply chain operations across Cultivation, Processing, and Distribution sites nationwide. This role drives ERP governance, inventory accuracy, production control, regulatory compliance, and operational process standardization to ensure financial integrity and operational excellence. This leader partners cross-functionally with Operations, Finance, Planning, Procurement, Compliance, and IT to improve system accuracy, reduce risk, increase visibility, and implement scalable supply chain best practices. The role requires up to 50% travel.


Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead, develop, and manage Supply Chain Operations and Inventory Control teams across multiple sites.
  • Establish performance metrics (KPIs) and accountability standards to ensure operational excellence.
  • Coach and mentor team members to drive high performance and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as the escalation point for complex inventory, production, and ERP-related issues.

ERP Governance & Systems Optimization (SAP / MJ / METRC / State Systems)

  • Own ERP data integrity, governance, and compliance across all operational facilities.
  • Develop and standardize ERP processes to ensure consistency across sites.
  • Monitor and audit daily ERP transactions including production confirmations, material movements, batch records, and inventory adjustments.
  • Lead system enhancements, upgrades, and process improvement initiatives in partnership with IT and Process Strategy teams.
  • Ensure alignment between physical inventory flow and system transactions.
  • Drive root cause analysis for recurring system errors and implement corrective actions.
  • Develop and deliver ERP training programs to ensure operational compliance and high user adoption.

 

 

Production Control & Operational Alignment

  • Oversee and report production order lifecycle management to ensure timely confirmation, accurate consumption, labor capture, and cost allocation.
  • Partner with Operations to ensure accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) and routings.
  • Ensure technical completion (TECO) and proper closure of production orders with minimal variances.
  • Monitor material usage, yield accuracy, and variance trends to identify operational inefficiencies.
  • Ensure real-time visibility of WIP, finished goods, and material availability across sites.

Inventory Control & Accuracy Management

  • Establish inventory accuracy standards and cycle count governance across all facilities.
  • Lead physical inventory audits and variance investigations; drive corrective and preventive actions.
  • Review and approve inventory adjustments, waste/scrap reporting, and batch corrections.
  • Monitor transit inventory (STOs, distribution transfers, wholesale, and retail fulfillment) to ensure end-to-end visibility and reconciliation.
  • Implement controls to maintain inventory variances within defined thresholds.
  • Provide executive-level reporting on inventory health, shrinkage trends, and risk exposure.

Compliance & Regulatory Oversight

  • Ensure all supply chain processes comply with local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
  • Maintain strict adherence to state-mandated inventory tracking systems (e.g., METRC, BioTrack).
  • Partner with Compliance teams to prepare for internal and external audits.
  • Develop internal audit protocols to proactively mitigate compliance risks.

Continuous Improvement & Strategic Initiatives

  • Identify process gaps and implement scalable solutions to improve efficiency, accuracy, and cost control.
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to improve supply chain visibility and operational performance.
  • Analyze supply chain data to drive informed decision-making and performance optimization.
  • Support new site launches and system implementations with standardized processes and controls.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Operations, or related field preferred (experience may substitute for degree).
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain, inventory control, or manufacturing operations.
  • 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.
  • Strong ERP experience required (SAP strongly preferred).
  • Deep understanding of production planning, inventory control, material management, and cost accounting principles.
  • Experience in regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root cause analysis skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel required).
  • Ability to travel up to 25%.
