The Denton Psychotherapy Center is seeking passionate and qualified Mental Health Counselors to join our remote-based outpatient practice in Oyster Bay, New York. This role is fully remote, allowing you flexibility and a work-life balance while maintaining dedicated patient care. You will have access to our state-of-the-art virtual therapy platforms and resources, ensuring seamless communication and documentation. Our practice’s operational hours are Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexibility required depending on patient schedules.

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments that identify the specific needs of patients, enabling the development of personalized treatment plans.
• Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and solution-focused therapy to guide individuals, couples, and families through their treatment journey.
• Facilitate psychoeducational and support groups that foster community and provide valuable resources for common mental health concerns.
• Collaborate regularly with psychiatrists, psychologists, and multidisciplinary team members to ensure coordinated and holistic care for our patients.
• Provide crisis intervention services to support patients during mental health emergencies, utilizing appropriate assessment and intervention strategies.
• Educate patients about their mental health conditions, treatment options, and resources available in their communities, empowering them to take an active role in their recovery.
• Maintain accurate, detailed, and confidential documentation in accordance with legal and ethical standards to support quality care and compliance.
• Participate actively in case consultations, team meetings, and professional development workshops to enrich your practice and enhance patient care.
• Stay current with the latest research, trends, and best practices in mental health therapy to provide the highest standard of care.

This role primarily involves working with adults facing a variety of mental health challenges. You'll engage with individuals who seek help for issues such as depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, and substance use disorders. Our approach is rooted in understanding the diverse backgrounds and experiences of our clients, allowing for culturally sensitive and individualized care.

• A Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, Psychology, or a related field is required.
• Current and valid licensure as an LMFT, LMHC, LCSW, or LCSW-R in the state of New York is essential.
• Strong foundational knowledge of mental health disorders and familiarity with evidence-based treatment methods.
• Proven capability to conduct thorough mental health assessments and develop tailored treatment plans.
• Experience in delivering both individual and group therapy to varied populations.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills for effective patient interactions.
• Demonstrated sound judgment, alongside adherence to ethical codes and professional boundaries.
• Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and basic computer applications to facilitate efficient client documentation.
• A willingness to engage collaboratively with colleagues in a multidisciplinary team setting.

• Experience with teletherapy models and virtual care practices, particularly in an outpatient setting.
• Background in working with diverse populations and a commitment to understanding cultural nuances in mental health.

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
