Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive initial assessments and document all clinical interactions, monitoring clients' progress from the first consultation through the conclusion of treatment.
  • Evaluate the mental, emotional, and behavioral health of clients, utilizing standardized assessment tools and techniques.
  • Develop tailored intervention and recovery plans for a variety of demographics including individuals, couples, families, and groups.
  • Facilitate engaging individual and group therapy sessions, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic approaches to foster healing and personal insight.
  • Continuously monitor client progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure effective outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, physicians, and nursing staff to create holistic intervention plans.
  • Follow up with clients who are hospitalized, ensuring continuity of care by coordinating with psychiatrists and attending medical professionals.
  • Provide educational resources to family members and primary caregivers to support clients in managing mental health challenges effectively.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The counselor will work with a diverse array of patients who may be experiencing conditions such as depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, addiction, and other mental health disorders. We emphasize a client-centered approach, striving to empower individuals by tailoring our services to meet their unique needs. Our substance abuse treatment and family counseling services are essential components of our work, ensuring we provide comprehensive support for clients and their families.

Qualifications
  • A Master’s or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution is required.
  • Current and valid licensure as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), or Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Texas.
  • Successful completion and passing scores on the National Counselor Examination (NCE) and/or the National Clinical Mental Health Counseling Examination (NCMHCE).
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of articulating complex clinical concepts clearly and empathetically.
Preferred Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of previous experience as a mental health counselor is preferred, demonstrating clinical experience across various therapeutic interventions.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record systems, particularly AVATAR, to maintain accurate client documentation.
  • Knowledge of the American Mental Health Counselors Association (AMHCA) best practices, with an emphasis on ethical standards.
  • In-depth understanding of underlying physical and emotional health conditions, as well as addiction disorders.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a genuine passion for helping others improve their mental health and well-being.
Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000, commensurate with experience, along with an attractive sign-on bonus.
