Job description

At Codelitt, we partner with ambitious companies to build digital products that solve real business problems. Our teams care deeply about product quality, strong engineering, and working closely with stakeholders to ship meaningful outcomes.
This is a remote position, however it is US only. We do not offer relocation or VISA.
About the Role!
We're looking for a Senior Build Automation Engineer to join our team on a cloud platform delivery engagement with one of our partners. This role is focused on building the automation layer that turns infrastructure, environment setup, deployment steps, and validation workflows into a repeatable and reliable delivery path.
The work sits at the intersection of platform engineering, DevOps, backend automation, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructure. You'll help automate the process of building and configuring platform environments, integrating with internal systems, validating deployments, and making sure teams have a clear, dependable path from request to working environment.
This is a hands-on individual contributor role for someone who is comfortable working across systems, stitching together automation, and bringing structure to complex technical delivery flows. Success here depends on strong engineering judgment, practical automation experience, and the ability to work with ambiguity while still driving toward usable outcomes.
Who You Are:
  • A strong platform, DevOps, SRE, or infrastructure automation engineer with experience building reliable delivery automation.
  • Comfortable working with Kubernetes, cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, scripts, APIs, and backend services.
  • Experienced in designing automation flows that connect multiple systems instead of only maintaining isolated scripts.
  • Able to reason through environment provisioning, deployment validation, post-deployment checks, rollback paths, and operational handoff.
  • Comfortable working with engineering and infrastructure stakeholders to understand manual processes and convert them into repeatable automation.
  • Pragmatic about tooling: you care more about creating reliable workflows than forcing a specific tool into every problem.
  • Strong at debugging distributed systems, deployment failures, pipeline issues, and infrastructure automation problems.
  • Able to operate independently, communicate clearly, and bring structure to ambiguous platform work.
What You'll Do:
Build Automation & Workflow Design
  • Design and implement automation for provisioning, configuring, and validating cloud platform environments.
  • Create end-to-end workflows that connect infrastructure setup, application deployment, health checks, and operational handoff.
  • Automate manual build and deployment steps into repeatable, documented processes.
  • Help define the golden path for creating and managing platform environments.
Kubernetes & Platform Delivery
  • Work with Kubernetes-based environments to support cluster setup, deployment automation, configuration, and validation.
  • Automate post-deployment steps, health checks, service readiness checks, and failure detection.
  • Support platform teams in making environment creation and updates more consistent, reliable, and observable.
  • Help improve reliability around deployment pipelines, infrastructure changes, and operational runbooks.
Backend & Tooling Integration
  • Integrate automation workflows with backend services, internal APIs, scripts, and platform tooling.
  • Build automation that can trigger, monitor, validate, and report on platform delivery processes.
  • Work with service owners and infrastructure engineers to understand dependencies, required inputs, expected outputs, and failure scenarios.
  • Create practical tooling that helps engineering teams move faster without increasing operational risk.
Delivery Reliability & Documentation
  • Create clear runbooks, handoff documentation, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Document assumptions, workflow steps, dependencies, rollback paths, and known limitations.
  • Collaborate with platform, infrastructure, backend, QA, and delivery stakeholders to make automation usable and maintainable.
  • Help move the team from manual execution toward repeatable platform delivery.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • 5+ years of experience in platform engineering, DevOps, SRE, infrastructure automation, backend automation, or similar roles.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Kubernetes.
  • Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
  • Experience automating infrastructure, environment setup, or platform delivery workflows.
  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP.
  • Comfortable writing scripts or small services in Bash, Python, Go, TypeScript, or similar languages.
  • Experience integrating automation with APIs, backend services, internal tools, or workflow systems.
  • Experience with Terraform, Crossplane, Helm, or other infrastructure/platform automation tools is helpful.
  • Experience with workflow orchestration tools such as Temporal, Argo Workflows, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins, or similar is a strong plus.
  • Experience building health checks, validation scripts, rollback workflows, and operational runbooks.
  • Experience working in enterprise platform, SAP delivery, or complex cloud infrastructure environments is a plus.
Soft Skills:
  • Strong ownership and bias toward action.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and evolving requirements.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • Practical, thoughtful, and focused on reliable outcomes.
  • Able to simplify complex technical processes into repeatable workflows.
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving instincts.
  • Comfortable working across infrastructure, backend, platform, QA, and delivery teams.
  • Able to bring calm, structure, and sound judgment to complex technical environments.

This role is ideal for someone who likes making complicated delivery processes feel simple, reliable, and repeatable. You should enjoy working across infrastructure and automation, connecting systems together, and helping teams move faster with less manual effort.
If you're excited by platform automation, Kubernetes-based delivery, and building the workflows that help engineering teams ship more reliably, we'd love to hear from you.
