Position Overview

Weโ€™re looking for an experienced Commercial Marine Engineer to support global commercial marine customers for a leading marine electronics organisation.

This is a hands-on, field-intensive technical role for someone who thrives in fast-moving environments, enjoys solving complex marine electronics issues, and is confident managing customer escalations end-to-end.

You will act as a key technical contact for commercial service operations across the US, supporting customers both remotely and on-site (vessel-based field work).


๏ธ Key Responsibilities
  • Act as primary contact for commercial service operations and technical support
  • Coordinate service orders, logistics, and field service activities
  • Manage customer escalations with service agents and internal engineering teams
  • Perform remote diagnostics and troubleshooting of marine electronics systems
  • ๏ธ Log, track, and manage cases within CRM systems
  • Analyse service trends to improve product and support quality
  • Support the development of training materials and technical documentation
  • Collaborate with global teams and third-party service partners


Must-Have Requirements Certifications & Compliance
  • FCC GROL Licence (mandatory)
  • ABYC Certification
  • NMEA Certification
  • MEI Certification
  • TWIC card eligibility
Experience
  • 4+ years in installation, repair, maintenance, and support of commercial marine electronics
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • Marine navigation systems
    • Radar systems
    • Autopilot systems
    • NMEA / CAN-BUS networks
  • Experience on commercial vessels (not recreational boating)
  • Experience working with third-party marine service vendors
Operational Skills
  • Strong customer-facing communication (phone + email support)
  • Experience managing technical escalations
  • Comfortable working in field conditions on board vessels


Nice to Have

  • GMDSS certification
