We serve all industries and have deep expertise in small business, manufacturing, education, e-commerce, aerospace & defense, construction, insurance, professional services, private equity, non-profits, and government entities. We have many additional services that we specialize in. We strategically partnered with Ascend, an accounting firm platform, in 2025 to expand our footprint and enhance our capabilities and service offerings to our clients.
The Opportunity
As an International Tax Manager at Tronconi Segarra & Associates (TSA), you will lead and expand the Firm's international tax capabilities. You will serve as the primary resource for inbound international tax matters, advising closely held businesses and their owners on complex cross-border structures, foreign reporting obligations, and global tax planning strategies. This role is ideal for a technical leader who combines deep international tax knowledge with a commitment to client service and team development.
The Firm's international tax practice is positioned for growth, supported by increasing client demand for cross-border advisory services and TSA's strategic partnership with Ascend. You will play a central role in building out this capability, working alongside Tax leadership to develop processes, mentor staff, and deliver high-quality international tax services across the client base.
How You'll Help Us Build a Confident Future:
International Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Lead the preparation, review, and delivery of all international tax compliance filings, including Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 8992 (GILTI), 8993 (FDII), and related schedules.
  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting for Controlled Foreign Corporations (CFCs), Passive Foreign Investment Companies (PFICs), and other foreign entities and subsidiaries.
  • Manage Subpart F income analysis, GILTI computations, foreign tax credit calculations, and treaty-based reporting positions.
  • Oversee compliance with FATCA, FBAR, and other international information reporting requirements.
  • Review and coordinate international components of business entity returns (partnerships, S-corps, C-corps) with strong attention to inbound transaction reporting.

International Tax Advisory & Planning
  • Advise clients on inbound investment structures, entity selection, and treaty planning for foreign-owned U.S. businesses.
  • Provide guidance on cross-border M&A transactions, corporate restructurings, and post-acquisition integration from an international tax perspective.
  • Develop tax-efficient structures for clients with foreign operations, subsidiaries, and joint ventures.
  • Analyze and communicate the impact of international tax reform, including GILTI, BEAT, and FDII provisions, on client positions.
  • Identify planning opportunities related to transfer pricing, foreign tax credits, and income repatriation strategies.

Client Engagement & Relationship Management
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to clients on all international tax matters, building long-term relationships grounded in responsiveness and technical depth.
  • Lead client meetings, present findings, and translate complex international tax concepts into clear, actionable guidance.
  • Manage a portfolio of international tax engagements, ensuring scope, timeline, and budget expectations are met.
  • Coordinate with domestic tax teams to deliver integrated, whole-picture tax advice across practice areas.
  • Proactively identify additional service opportunities within the existing client base and communicate them to the appropriate team members.

Team Leadership & Development
  • Mentor and develop staff, seniors, and supervising seniors on international tax technical skills and professional growth.
  • Build internal training programs and reference materials to strengthen the Firm's international tax knowledge base.
  • Contribute to the hiring and onboarding process for international tax team members as the practice grows.
  • Foster a collaborative, high-quality work environment consistent with the Firm's Professional Excellence Model.
  • Lead or contribute to Firm-wide training sessions, CPE events, and thought leadership in international tax.

Business Development & Market Presence
  • Support the Firm's business development efforts by participating in proposals, prospect meetings, and networking within the international tax community.
  • Build a visible professional presence through industry involvement, writing, speaking, and professional association participation.
  • Collaborate with Tax leadership and other Practice Areas to identify and pursue cross-selling opportunities for international tax services.
  • Contribute to the Firm's go-to-market positioning as a regional leader in international tax advisory for middle-market businesses.

What You Need to Succeed (Required Qualifications):
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA license required; EA, JD, or LLM in Taxation a plus.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in international tax, preferably in public accounting serving closely held and middle-market businesses.
  • Strong inbound international tax experience with business entity returns (partnerships, S-corps, C-corps).
  • Deep working knowledge of GILTI, Subpart F, foreign tax credits, and foreign reporting requirements for CFCs and other foreign subsidiaries.
  • Experience with Forms 5471, 8865, 8858, 8992, 8993, FBAR, and FATCA compliance.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements, meet deadlines, and deliver high-quality work product.

What Will Give You an Edge (Additional Skills):
  • Experience in cross-border M&A, corporate restructuring, and post-acquisition international tax integration.
  • Familiarity with transfer pricing concepts and documentation requirements.
  • Experience with international tax provisions under ASC 740.
  • Working knowledge of tax treaty networks and their application to inbound and outbound structures.
  • Established professional network in the international tax community.
  • Experience building or scaling an international tax practice within a regional or mid-size firm.

Success Measures
  • Technical Quality: International tax filings and advisory deliverables consistently meet Firm quality standards with minimal review points.
  • Client Satisfaction: Positive feedback from clients on responsiveness, clarity, and depth of international tax guidance.
  • Practice Growth: Measurable expansion of the international tax client base and service revenue, aligned with Firm targets.
  • Team Development: Staff assigned to international tax engagements demonstrate visible growth in technical capability and confidence.
  • Cross-Selling: Identification and referral of additional service opportunities from within the international tax client portfolio.

The annual base salary range for this role is $110,000-170,000. This range includes the anticipated low and high end of TSA's salary range for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on various factors, including experience, education and/or skill level.
