JOB DESCRIPTION
Fox News Media is looking for a Remote Operations Technician to work with our field operations, production, and field engineering staff. You will be responsible for driving the studio van, setting up and transmitting live shots for breaking news and/or scheduled hits for our primetime and anchored shows. Additionally, you will be trained to operate our satellite truck and A/V equipment we use in field engineering. The Remote Operations Technician should have a strong understanding of fast-paced, live television news events and working alongside guests and contributors who are live on TV.
A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Maintenance of the Studio Van and Satellite Truck
  • Coordinate a remote broadcast including transmission and communications to/from the control room
  • Troubleshoot technical errors and document the procedure
  • Safely drive company-owned vehicles
  • Extensive, last-minute travel for breaking news

WHAT YOU WILL NEED
  • Field newsgathering experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to multi-task in the field
  • Working knowledge of LiveU, ENG field photography and lighting
  • Flexibility and capacity to work in a high stress, breaking news environment
  • Basic understanding of computer Networking including MAC & PC OS operation
  • Must have a clean driving record
  • Flexibility to work a variety of shifts to support the demands of a 24-hour news operation, including overtime and weekends
