Position Overview

The Healing Mind and Soul Center is actively seeking a compassionate and licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) to join our dedicated team in providing high-quality therapeutic services. This full-time remote position focuses on delivering impactful therapeutic support to children and families dealing with developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. The ideal candidate possesses a passion for improving the lives of young individuals and their families through effective therapeutic practices.

About the Organization

Located in Salem, Oregon, Healing Mind and Soul Center is a leading mental health organization committed to empowering families and children facing exceptional challenges. Our mission is to provide Comprehensive Youth & Family Support Services tailored to the unique needs of families with children and teens who have developmental and intellectual disabilities. By fostering an inclusive and supportive environment, we aim to enhance the well-being of our clients through a collaborative approach to mental health care.

Work Environment

The work setting is primarily remote, allowing for flexibility in balancing work and personal commitments while still engaging in meaningful therapeutic interactions. We operate out of an outpatient office, ensuring access to resources and support for our therapists. Our team values collaboration, innovation, and a culture of continuous improvement, fostering a vibrant environment where each member is encouraged to thrive professionally.

Key Responsibilities

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting individual therapy sessions in-home or through virtual platforms, adapting to the unique needs of each client.
  • Facilitating group therapy sessions at our outpatient center, focusing on building critical social skills and emotional resilience.
  • Implementing therapeutic interventions designed to manage anger, develop coping mechanisms, and mitigate high-risk behaviors including self-injurious behaviors and physical aggression.
  • Enhancing decision-making skills for youth and their caregivers by providing actionable strategies for managing in-home behavioral challenges.
  • Collaborating with other professionals who are part of the Child Family Treatment Team to ensure a comprehensive support system for our clients.
  • Documenting all interactions and required paperwork in a timely manner, including intake assessments, treatment plans, and progress notes.
  • Participating in monthly team meetings to discuss client progress, share insights, and contribute to team recommendations.
Patient Population / Client Focus

The primary focus of this role will be serving children and adolescents aged 3-20 who experience developmental disabilities and intellectual challenges. You will have the opportunity to make a tangible difference in the lives of diverse families, offering specialized therapeutic interventions that promote positive behavioral changes and overall emotional well-being.

Qualifications

To succeed in this role, candidates must meet the following requirements:

  • A Masterโ€™s degree in Counseling, Family Therapy, Social Work, or a closely related field.
  • An active and unrestricted LMFT license in Oregon.
  • Availability for a minimum of 5-10 hours per week, particularly during after-school hours from 4-7 PM, with additional weekend availability considered a plus.
  • A valid driverโ€™s license and access to a registered vehicle for in-home sessions.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, inclusive of fingerprinting.
Preferred Experience

While not mandatory, the following experiences are preferred and will enhance candidacy:

  • Experience with providing positive behavior support strategies.
  • Prior work with children diagnosed with intellectual and developmental disabilities (I/DD).
  • Fluency in Spanish or Portuguese, enabling effective communication with bilingual families.
Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary range of USD 60,000 to 80,000 per year, commensurate with experience. In addition to competitive pay, you will benefit from:

  • A dynamic and inclusive work environment that values well-being and professional development.
  • Ongoing job training and professional growth opportunities tailored to your career aspirations.
  • Comprehensive group health coverage.
  • Annual paid time off to support work-life balance.
  • Short-term and long-term disability insurance.
  • A 401K retirement plan to help secure your financial future.
Career Growth Opportunities

At Healing Mind and Soul Center, we are dedicated to the professional development of our staff. As part of our team, you will have the opportunity for continued education and training that can lead to career advancement within the organization. We believe in nurturing talent and providing pathways for our therapists to take on leadership roles or specialize in areas of particular interest.

Why Join Our Team
