Job description

About The Role

At Uber, the People Data & Intelligence team drives business performance by translating employee insights into action. We partner with senior leaders to improve organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, and workforce outcomes across the full talent lifecycle - from hiring to retention.

We are looking for a senior data analyst who is passionate about using data to answer business questions and influence decisions. This role sits at the intersection of analytics engineering and modern insight delivery, supporting decisions by building intelligent applications, integrating AI workflows, and transforming raw people metrics into scalable, self-service solutions.

What You'll Do

  • Analytics Delivery: Partner with cross-functional stakeholders (HRBPs, business leaders, and people teams) to quickly understand ambiguous business questions and translate them into structured analysis blueprints and success benchmarks. Deliver timely, high-quality insights that inform strategy, roadmaps, and organizational health.
  • Build Scalable Analytics Solutions & Data Products: Act as a builder - Design optimized data models and clean, structured data layers that enable rapid analysis.
  • Application Development & Automation: Develop custom, intelligent data tools and internal web applications (e.g., automated reporting tools, chatbots, or insight generation) using Python, Flask, and Streamlit to enable self-service insights.
  • Code Excellence: Focus on long-term scaling by building, maintaining, and documenting clean codebases and analytics best practices within the team.
  • Team Mindset: Be humble and scrappy, willing to take on tactical or foundational data work whenever it helps unblock the team or a project.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative or analytical field (e.g., Statistics, Economics, Engineering, Computer Science, Data Analytics, or related).
  • Minimum 4+ years of experience in business intelligence, analytics, data engineering, or a similar role delivering insights in a corporate environment.
  • 3+ years experience of strong SQL expertise with the ability to independently write complex, efficient queries on large production datasets.
  • Hands-on experience building lightweight applications and analytical tools using frameworks like Streamlit and Flask.
  • Proficiency with industry-standard BI and data visualization tools (such as Tableau and Looker) to design intuitive dashboards and transform raw data into clear, self-service visual narratives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Fluency in Python to clean, manipulate large datasets at scale, and apply analytical, automation, or machine learning capabilities to build scalable solutions.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with modern Generative AI tools and APIs to build intelligent data applications, automate complex analytical workflows, and extract actionable insights from large-scale datasets.
  • Direct experience in People Analytics, HR data, or exposure to Human Capital Management (HCM) systems and employee listening (survey) analysis.
  • Experience in experimental design, exploratory data analysis, data modeling, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience working directly with Product and Engineering teams in a fast-moving, cross-functional environment.
