This role is contingent upon a contract award.
ICF is seeking a MuleSoft Developer to support enterprise integration services for a federal health client's Salesforce environment. This role will focus on designing, developing, testing, deploying, and maintaining APIs and integrations that connect Salesforce with enterprise shared services, external systems, security services, and operational platforms.
The ideal candidate has hands-on MuleSoft development experience and can work within a structured Agile and DevSecOps delivery model. This role requires strong API development skills, practical understanding of Salesforce integration patterns, and the ability to support secure, reliable, and maintainable integrations in a governed enterprise environment.
This work supports an enterprise Salesforce services environment that includes shared platform services, application integrations, stakeholder onboarding, release support, operations and maintenance, and continuous improvement. The MuleSoft Developer will work closely with architects, Salesforce developers, business analysts, testers, release engineers, and client stakeholders to deliver integration capabilities that are scalable, secure, and supportable.
Job Location: This position is remote within the United States.
Please note that ICF monitors employee work locations, restricts access from foreign locations and IP addresses, and prohibits the use of personal VPN connections.
What You'll Be Doing
  • Design, develop, test, deploy, and maintain MuleSoft APIs, integrations and automation workflows supporting Salesforce applications, enterprise shared services, and external systems.

  • Build integration flows using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform, including API-led connectivity, reusable services, connectors, transformations, error handling, and logging.

  • Support Salesforce integration patterns, including REST APIs, event-driven integrations, data synchronization, authentication, authorization, and secure data exchange.

  • Work with architects, Salesforce developers, business analysts, testers, and client stakeholders to translate integration requirements to working technical solutions.

  • Participate in Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily standups, sprint reviews, retrospectives, and PI planning.

  • Support DevSecOps practices by preparing integration components for deployment, resolving defects, supporting automated testing, addressing security findings, and maintaining traceability across development and release artifacts.

  • Assist with release support activities, including deployment preparation, validation, production readiness, rollback planning, release documentation, and post-release support.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve integration defects, failed transactions, data issues, API performance issues, and production incidents in coordination with application, security, and operations teams.

  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, including API specifications, interface designs, data mappings, integration diagrams, configuration notes, and operational support procedures.

  • Support continuous improvement of integration practices, including reusable APIs, performance optimization, integration monitoring, logging, error handling, security, and operational support processes.

  • Work within formal change control, security, privacy, Section 508, and documentation expectations for a regulated federal environment.

What You Must Have
  • Bachelor's degree

  • 3+ years of experience supporting application development, systems integration, or enterprise software implementations
  • 2+ years of experience designing and developing integrations using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform

  • MuleSoft Certified Developer certification

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a federal public trust clearance or equivalent client-required background investigation.
  • Candidate must reside in the US, be authorized to work in the US, and work must be performed in the US

  • Must have lived in the US 3 full years out of the last 5 years

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience integrating with Salesforce or other SaaS/cloud-based platforms
  • Experience working in Agile environments using tools such as Jira, Confluence, or similar
  • Familiarity with API security and authentication (e.g., OAuth, SAML, SSO)
  • Experience with API-led architecture, API gateways, and reusable integration services
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and deployment processes
  • Experience monitoring, logging, troubleshooting, and performance tuning APIs and integrations
  • Experience supporting MuleSoft integrations in regulated environments (e.g., federal, healthcare, financial services)
  • MuleSoft Certified Developer - Level 2 certification preferred
  • Salesforce Platform Developer I, Administrator, or related certification preferred

Pay Range - There are multiple factors that are considered in determining final pay for a position, including, but not limited to, relevant work experience, skills, certifications and competencies that align to the specified role, geographic location, education and certifications as well as contract provisions regarding labor categories that are specific to the position.
The pay range for this position based on full-time employment is:
$81,499.00 - $138,549.00
