This position is entirely remote, offering flexibility to our counselors in how they conduct their sessions while ensuring that they can maintain a strong work-life balance. • Maintain a caseload of clients by establishing rapport and fostering positive therapeutic relationships while upholding professional ethics.
• Conduct regular client meetings to discuss progress, stability, and upcoming appointments, and manage discharges when necessary.
• Develop, implement, and monitor comprehensive, person-centered treatment plans tailored to the individual needs of clients.
• Document detailed progress notes and treatment updates for each client to maintain accurate and up-to-date records.
• Conduct thorough intake assessments to gather clients' backgrounds and mental health histories.
• Facilitate individual therapy sessions, using evidenced-based techniques to support clients' mental health goals.
• Engage in individual supervision and receive ongoing learning opportunities to enhance clinical skills.
• Collaborate with fellow healthcare providers to ensure integrated and coordinated care across services.
• Foster a growth mindset in all work-related activities, continuously seeking avenues for professional and personal development.

Our client population includes diverse individuals across all age groups, from children to elderly clients, each encountering various mental health challenges. As a counselor at Bison, you will provide support to clients facing conditions such as anxiety, depression, trauma, and relationship issues, allowing you to engage with a rich variety of therapeutic scenarios. You will deeply impact their recovery journeys by delivering tailored therapeutic interventions that aim to enhance their overall well-being.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling, Social Work, or a relevant field.
• Current and active Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) licensure in Connecticut.
• A minimum of one year of post-graduate experience in a clinical outpatient setting.
• Proficiency in using computer systems, including Excel, RMS, Outlook, and PIMSY.
• Experience in providing direct psychotherapy services to individuals and families, demonstrating effective therapeutic techniques.
• Comfort and expertise in conducting intake assessments in a clinical context.

While the above qualifications are mandatory, candidates with additional experience in specialized therapeutic modalities or with specific populations (such as children, adolescents, or trauma survivors) will be preferred. Familiarity with telehealth practices and platforms is also a plus, given the remote nature of this position.
