The Field Service Specialist/Operations Specialist is a technical role reporting directly to the Non Cryo Line Manager and supports both the Equipment Support and Plant Services Group (ESPS), and the Customer Engineering Organization. In addition to the primary accountability for operational integrity and safety, the position responsibilities also include completing maintenance service visits, remote and on-site support, and troubleshooting plant problems.

Non Cryo devices are Nitrogen Generators using either a Pressure Swing Absorption or Membrane technology to remove Oxygen from a compressed air stream leaving 98% + purity Nitrogen for commercial applications.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee day-to-day operations of Nitrogen PSA and Membrane assets located at customer facilities.
  • Coordinate planned preventive maintenance and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Serve as the liaison between Customer Engineering and Commercial Management.
  • Provide training in support of Customer Engineering technicians on PSA and Membrane pants.
  • Interface with customer management and maintenance teams, ensuring professional relationships are maintained.
  • Provide primary support integration and execution between Equipment Support and Plant Services, the CE Non Cryo Technical Team, and the Asset Manager.
  • Assist in the management and execution of maintenance and project activities for Air Products and Customer Owned PSAs.
  • Utilize multiple software platforms to initiate, and complete Service Reports and Plant Assessments
  • Optimization and adjustments to plant performance, instrumentation, HMIs, PLCs, Analyzers and Controllers
  • Provide onsite support for maintenance, site evaluations, flow testing, system commissioning and startups
  • Assist in the management of P&IDs, electrical drawings and site drawings
  • Promote an atmosphere of team spirit with positivity, open communication, and problem resolution, and flexibility
  • Actively participate in the BSP Program and other safety programs, promote and enforce safety rules and good housekeeping
  • Travel associated with the position is approximately 40%.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma is required, higher degree desired.
  • 5+ years of experience in industrial gas equipment support roles.
  • The position is technical in nature and requires operating experience with small to medium pressure compression equipment and controls.
  • Instrumentation and controls experience are preferred.
  • Previous experience with Industrial Gas/ Nitrogen Process Systems- specifically Adsorption Technology is helpful.
  • Excellent communication skills as related interaction with customers and Asset & Account Management.
  • Ability to multi-task in a busy work environment.
  • Instrument Technicians/ Controls Technicians are encouraged to apply
