Job Title: Seasonal Desk Adjuster – Catastrophe (CAT)
Location: Remote
Department: Claims
Reports To: Claims Supervisor
FLSA Status: Non Exempt
Compensation: $45 per hour during CAT event
Position Overview:
As an Independent Desk Adjuster for People’s Trust Insurance, you will play a key role in handling homeowners’ property claims related to catastrophic events such as hurricanes. Operating remotely, you will be responsible for evaluating, processing, and settling claims quickly and accurately in a high-volume environment. This position requires strong analytical skills, insurance policy knowledge, and a customer-focused mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Claim Evaluation: Review and analyze CAT-related property claims, including wind, water, and flood damage, to determine coverage and estimate losses.
  • Documentation Review: Assess property damage using photos, estimates, and reports submitted by field adjusters, contractors, and policyholders.
  • Decision-Making: Apply policy language to determine coverage and issue fair claim settlements based on guidelines and regulations.
  • Customer Communication: Provide clear and empathetic guidance to policyholders throughout the claims process, ensuring transparency and support during a stressful time.
  • File Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed, and compliant records of all claims activity.
  • Collaboration: Coordinate with field adjusters, contractors, and internal teams to ensure timely and accurate claim resolution.
  • Efficiency amp; Timeliness: Manage a large caseload efficiently while meeting service level expectations and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications:
