Developers (Remote)
Job Summary
This role focuses on modernizing legacy applications by refactoring existing COBOL-based business logic into SQL/MX within the HPE NonStop environment. The work supports the AIRES application operating within the client's network. The engineer will analyze, redesign, and convert legacy code while ensuring system performance, stability, and data integrity across mission-critical systems.
Key Responsibilities
  • Refactor and migrate legacy COBOL code into SQL/MX-based implementations
  • Work within the HPE NonStop platform, supporting the AIRES application
  • Analyze existing business logic and redesign it for modern database-driven architecture
  • Ensure code quality, performance optimization, and system reliability
  • Collaborate within secure enterprise environments, adhering to network standards

Required Qualifications
  • Strong hands-on experience with:
    • COBOL development and refactoring
    • HPE NonStop systems
    • SQL/MX and SQL/MX Database Manager
    • TAL (Transaction Application Language)
  • Proven experience migrating or modernizing legacy systems
  • Solid understanding of enterprise application architecture and database-driven solutions

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills
Experience with:
