Selfcare Space Counseling Services, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) for a full-time, remote position. This role operates wholly in a remote setting, allowing for flexibility and work-life balance while ensuring that our therapists can reach clients who may face barriers to accessing traditional in-office therapy. Our remote infrastructure supports seamless communication and collaboration among team members, ensuring that all clients receive consistent and effective care.

• Participate actively in case conferences and contribute to treatment planning for patients receiving or being considered for mental health services, ensuring a holistic approach to care.
• Conduct thorough mental health evaluations, crisis interventions, and follow-up care to assess patient progress and adapt treatment plans as needed.
• Coordinate patient care effectively, collaborating with Reentry Social Workers to provide appropriate discharge planning services, particularly for clients navigating complex mental health needs.
• Facilitate and lead group therapy sessions, psychoeducational workshops, and treatment on mental health observation units, utilizing evidence-based practices.
• Complete necessary statistical reports and documentation to adhere to regulatory standards, contributing to the clinic's operational efficiency.
• Engage in clinical supervision, participating in weekly discussions with the Clinical Supervisor to refine therapeutic techniques and enhance clinical skills.
• Coordinate care with other institutional programs and collaborate with the Department of Correction to ensure patient access, proper housing, and appropriate treatment disposition.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a passion for working with a diverse demographic, particularly focusing on teenagers and children. Our client base includes individuals facing various challenges such as mental health disorders, trauma, and family dysfunction, necessitating a therapist who can build rapport and foster trust.

• A Master's or Doctorate degree in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or a related mental health discipline is required.
• Current licensure or eligibility for licensure as a therapist in the state of California is essential, specifically as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to ongoing professional development and improvement.
• Strong clinical skills, demonstrating the ability to establish rapport and trust with clients, and adapt therapeutic approaches to meet individual needs.

We value diverse experiences, and while not mandatory, candidates with experience in managing family and group therapy sessions, conducting psychological evaluations, or supervising interns will be preferred. Familiarity with trauma-informed care and evidence-based practices in mental health therapy will also be advantageous.
