The Sr. Manager, Infrastructure Engineering leads the planning, execution, and lifecycle governance of engineering projects across infrastructure engineering, material handling systems, and container handling operations. This role ensures all engineering initiatives align with regional and global objectives and are delivered within defined scope, schedule, and resource parameters.

The position develops and executes comprehensive engineering project plans, translates sizing and operational requirements into engineered designs, oversees vendor and integrator performance, and drives continuous improvement across infrastructure and handling systems. The Sr. Manager ensures reliable, endtoend performance of engineering assets and maintains strong alignment across engineering, operations, procurement, and business unit stakeholders.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Technical engineering, Project Design and Execution

ย 

  • Responsible for development and design of as-built drawings for material handling equipment, container handling equipment and overall warehouse operations.

  • Lead complex engineering projects involving infrastructure engineering, material handling, and container handling systems.
  • Translate capacity, throughput, and operational requirements into engineered designs, specifications, and actionable work packages.
  • Oversee project execution from concept through commissioning, ensuring adherence to scope, schedule, budget, and quality.
  • Manage engineering change control, milestone communication, risk identification, and escalation procedures.
  • Coordinate crossfunctional dependencies across mechanical, electrical, controls, operations, and safety teams.

Engineering Governance & Service Management

  • Identify opportunities for engineering optimization, process improvement, and lifecycle cost reduction.
  • Ensure uninterrupted performance of infrastructure engineering systems and material/container handling assets.
  • Participate in engineering review boards and technical decision forums.
  • Maintain alignment across engineering, operations, procurement, and business unit stakeholders.

Stakeholder & Vendor Management

  • Manage engineering vendors, integrators, and equipment suppliers, including contract performance and technical deliverables.
  • Engage crossdiscipline and crossdomain partners to support engineering initiatives.
  • Advise leadership on engineering strategy, technology selection, and longrange infrastructure planning.
  • Serve as a senior technical consultant for engineering policies, programs, and standards.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 10-15 years of progressively complex experience in infrastructure engineering, material handling engineering, container handling systems, or related fields; or a Master's degree with 8-12 years of relevant experience.
  • Demonstrated experience executing largescale engineering projects with crossfunctional and crossdomain scope.
  • Proven experience translating sizing requirements into engineered designs and technical specifications.
  • Experience with vendor management, engineering procurement, and contract oversight.
  • Proficiency with AutoCAD, engineering design tools, and modeling software.

Skills:

  • Expertise in mechanical systems, infrastructure engineering, and material/container handling technologies.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, including technical and businesscase evaluation across the full project lifecycle.
  • Excellent communication, influencing, and executive presentation capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent engineering initiatives and drive alignment across business units.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Engineering certifications or advanced technical credentials.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related discipline.

  • This position may be based in a variety of DHL office locations and may be appropriate for full or partial remote work, subject to approval.
  • Up to 50% travel may be required.
  • This position requires weekday (Monday-Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.
