Director Digital Transformation & Operational Excellence

Position Overview:

The Operations Lead for Digital Transformation & Opex is responsible for defining and executing enterprise-wide projects to modernize manufacturing and quality systems through advanced digital technologies & operational excellence. The role leads deployment of AI, MVDA, advanced analytics, and scalable software platforms across a global manufacturing network to improve product quality, regulatory compliance, operational performance, and operational excellence maturity. The role defines and owns the AI and digital transformation strategy for the global manufacturing network and leads the team that drives its execution across local sites - including accountability for building and presenting the investment cases that fund it, and for the network-wide standards and governance that sustain it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Defining and executing global operations' digital transformation strategy
  • Lead deployment of AI-driven solutions across manufacturing network
  • Lead deployment of MVDA solutions across manufacturing network
  • Drive improvements in quality, efficiency, and compliance
  • Lead global cross-functional programs and stakeholders
  • Develop scalable digital platforms and architectures
  • Ensure regulatory compliance (FDA, ISO, etc.) across all implementations
  • Drive standardization of manufacturing processes and best practices across global sites.

What will you bring:

  • Extensive experience leading digital transformation, smart manufacturing, or operational excellence programs within complex manufacturing environments.
  • Expertise in AI/ML, MVDA, advanced analytics, process control, and Industry 4.0 technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of quality systems, regulatory compliance, and validated manufacturing processes.
  • Proven success delivering enterprise-scale transformation, stakeholder alignment, and change management across global organisations.
  • Ability to combine deep technical expertise with strategic business leadership, driving scalable solutions and measurable operational improvements.
  • Exceptional analytical, communication, and leadership skills, supported by a strong sense of integrity and accountability.

This is a remote role, linked to our office in Lexington, Boston, Massachusetts or in the UK.
