They handle various aspects of game development, including programming, art, sound, and marketing, often with limited resources. These developers may publish their games independently or collaborate with small studios. Remote work allows flexibility but requires strong self-discipline and project management skills. Many use platforms like Steam, itch.io, or mobile app stores to distribute their games.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a remote indie game developer?

To thrive as a Remote Indie Game Developer, you need strong programming skills, a solid understanding of game design principles, and experience with graphics and audio integration, often supported by a relevant degree or portfolio. • Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD pipelines, Git workflows, DevOps practices, and AWS
  • Solid understanding of observability, including logging, monitoring, metrics, tracing, and production diagnostics
