• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments for elderly clients, accurately identifying their specific emotional and psychological care needs.
• Facilitate individual and group counseling sessions aimed at addressing emotional challenges that come with aging, including issues related to grief, loss, and life transitions.
• Collaborate closely with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to create tailored care plans that promote holistic well-being for geriatric clients.
• Educate caregivers, family members, and support staff on effective strategies for promoting emotional health and improving the quality of life for elderly residents.
• Implement grief counseling and offer support to families facing end-of-life issues, ensuring compassionate care during difficult times.
• Design and implement cognitive stimulation programs and mental health interventions to foster cognitive health among seniors.
• Maintain clear and accurate documentation of assessments, treatment plans, and client progress in accordance with ethical and legal standards.

The primary focus of this role is on the geriatric population, addressing their unique mental health concerns, including depression, anxiety, dementia-related issues, and the psychological effects of physical health conditions. As a counselor, you will actively engage with seniors from diverse backgrounds, offering culturally sensitive support that honors their individual experiences and values.

• A Master's degree in Mental Health Counseling from an accredited institution.
• A valid Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) credential in the state of Washington.
• A minimum of 4 years of professional experience delivering mental health services to geriatric clients.
• Strong understanding of evidence-based practices specific to the elderly population and familiarity with age-related mental health issues.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively connect with both clients and their families.
• Empathy and cultural awareness to provide holistic and individualized care.
• Proficient in conducting detailed assessments and formulating tailored treatment strategies.
• Knowledge of the ethical and legal frameworks governing mental health counseling.

• Specialized training or certification in geriatric mental health.
• Experience in telehealth counseling practices and virtual engagement techniques.
• A background in developing and implementing cognitive stimulation activities for seniors.
• Experience working collaboratively with healthcare teams in a geriatric setting.

This full-time position offers a competitive salary ranging from $65,000 to $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience and expertise, along with the inclusion of a signing bonus. Our comprehensive benefits package includes:
