Job description

The Future Freedom Manager assists and advises the organization to ensure ABS services and capabilities are identified, developed and implemented to the benefit of the organization.

What You Will Do

  • Identify emerging industry and regulatory needs and recommend development of product / service development projects.

  • Practical experience and knowledge in System Architecture, Software Architecture, automated deployments using CI/CD pipelines, and Secure Software Development practices.

  • Hands-on knowledge of GenAI development, data engineering pipelines, API management, microservices, and integration patterns used in regulated cloud enterprise environments.

  • Skill in prioritizing initiatives, managing budgets, driving organizational change, and aligning technology roadmaps with ABS strategic objectives.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to organize, motivate, mentor, and develop engineering teams while assuming high individual responsibility.

  • Develop business cases for new projects based on collaboration / feedback and as directed for new projects.

  • Work with ABS senior management and peers and, where appropriate, supervise direct reports, to achieve:

    • Alignment of projects with corporate, business unit, Technology and product strategy.

    • Development of business cases / project proposals / product strategy and marketing tools;

    • Awareness and communication of competitor and business intelligence;

    • Detailed planning of the technical scope and schedule of projects for development;

    • Execution of technical development, the approval of deliverables and implementation of projects;

    • Participation in Committee meetings for review and approval of projects;

    • Monitoring projects for timely delivery within budget and to improve project development efficiency;

    • Development and coordination of corporate responses on key client issues as requested within domain expertise;

  • Communicate the best use of new technologies, services and products to internal and external stakeholders.

  • Enhance client-facing efforts through the communication of capabilities to ABS business development and engineering/survey staff, clients and external organizations.

  • Evaluate any direct reports performance on project development and provide feedback to the Director/VP.

What You Will Need

Education and Experience

  • 10+ years of experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or recognized equivalent in Engineering or Science required.
  • Master's or PhD preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Practical experience and knowledge in System Architecture, Azure configuration, build and deployment and Gen AI development.

  • Practical experience and knowledge in classification, marine & offshore industry technologies and client relationships.

  • Advanced knowledge and skills in Microsoft Office applications and web-based services.

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills to organize, manage and motivate personnel.

  • Working knowledge of the ABS Health, Safety, Quality & Environmental Management System.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to a Director or Executive-level position. May have Individual Contributor direct reports.
