Job description

We are seeking an Experienced Immigration Legal Assistant/Paralegal to join our team!

Responsibilities:

  • Primary contact with clients to gather documentation, review and prepare forms, and file applications (removal cases, asylum and family-based Immigration I-130, I-485, I-601, I-601A, N-400, DACA renewal, etc.)
  • Assist attorneys in the preparing, filing, and monitoring of USCIS applications and petitions and immigration court filings
  • Work with attorneys and the litigation team through all phases of removal cases
  • Manage court deadlines, calendaring, scheduling, and case logistics
  • Conduct research to support legal proceedings
  • Assist with implementation of case strategy
  • Draft, analyze and review documents for case filing
  • Manage high volume caseload
  • Maintain case logs
  • Maintain confidential information

​Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Foreign Bachelor’s degree or foreign law degree acceptable.
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Paralegal certification preferred; substantial equivalent experience may be considered in lieu of certification.
  • Minimum two years' experience as a paralegal or legal assistant in family based or litigation Immigration processes, the ability to manage multiple case types simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Familiarity with legal research
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Ability to manage deadlines and prioritize demands, and work with minimal supervision
  • Bachelor’s degree or foreign law degree
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus
