Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to meticulously evaluate the severity, frequency, and duration of mood disorder symptoms, utilizing ICD-10 standards.
  • Collaborate closely with clients to create personalized treatment plans that prioritize their unique needs, aspirations, and cultural backgrounds.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions, focusing on modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), tailored to mood disorders.
  • Provide thorough education and support to clients and their families regarding mood disorders, potential treatment options, and practical self-care strategies.
  • Track and monitor clients' progress through detailed documentation and regular follow-ups, adjusting treatment plans based on evolving client needs.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration with psychiatrists and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.

Qualifications
  • Master's or doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT in Virginia is required.
  • Strong foundational knowledge of evidence-based treatment methods specifically for mood disorders.
  • Demonstrated ability to build rapport with clients and communicate effectively across diverse populations.
